No Fred and George?
Good luck!

aephi alum, I originally had Fred and George, but I realized I wanted to put Hagrid in there and would have to take one of them out--I couldn't decide so I got rid of the twins. And, yes, no Snape, he ended up being wonderful but he isn't a favorite.
Oh, but in regards to Twilight vs HP. HP was on the AP English Literature test 2 times since it's publication, Twilight was not ...I hope it's still around in 100 years, or even the next 50, so it can be up there with Frankenstein and those other classic "fantasy" novels. It'd be awesome if it lasted as long as Homer's writings have--I love Greek mythology.
And, yeah, I am terrified of not getting a bid, but it's a risk I'm more than willing to take.

Wicked pumped for this.
Someday can someone do a Dr. Who story? That would be the ultimate nerd.

LOL, I have never seen Dr. Who.
Was it really? I love HP, but AP English Literature it is not. At least, not yet... in my opinion. I may be undereducated as that was not a class I took, but I thought it was supposed to focus on 'classic literature.' But then again, I'm about to hop off my classic-lit high horse, so what do I know?
Yeah, I started asking myself, 'Is the chance of not getting a bid at all a worse outcome than not rushing in the first place?' I think I'd rather just go through and try to be optimistic though! I know you're going to delay posting a bit, but you only have 2 or 3 weeks left, right?
(You don't have to say specifically, or it might give too many hints.)

If you have netflix, watch season 1-4. My sister forced me to watch one episode and I was hooked 30 minutes in.

My H adores Dr. Who ... I'll watch it with him, but not really a hardcore fan.

No, it's not what is generally accepted as "literature" currently, but I can see it going the way of Narnia or Lord of the Rings (or so I hope, either way my kids will be familiar with HP haha). I think it's an excellent example of storytelling for late 20th/early 21 C. Many of what we consider books of literary merit started off as "dime" novels, that were not widely respected at all.
I asked myself the same thing--I didn't want to be wondering, "what if?". Yeah I have about two weeks to go, I'm trying to figure out all of my clothes still, I keep changing my mind...I may have to make a stop to Diagon Alley to grab some shoes or robes you know .
I've heard great things about Dr. Who, I'll watch it eventually, maybe over break, I have too many shows to follow as it is.

That's true, cad! I would love to see them become 'our generation's' Narnia. I think that they are truly great stories, haha! At any rate, I thought it was a truly inspired theme
Glad to know that I'm not the only one still buying shoes! LOL!

LOL. Maybe someone rushing at the (nonexistent) school that has chapters of all 26 NPC sororities can do a rush thread where all the chapters are named after the Doctor's companions. Or someone rushing at a school with 11 chapters could name them after the actors who've played the Doctor to date ... of course if it were I I'd have to post the story after the fact, just so I could say "I pledged Tom Baker!" LOL

Dr. Who had had 26 companions? I feel like that would make sense if I followed the show. And if 11 people have played him I guess he really is a Who.

I'm liking Dumbledore and Ron. The old guy and the ginger have always been excellent.

Since I can never pick an actual favorite, I'll pick two characters I absolutely adore!
Go Hagrid and Ginny!

I kinda always wanted my name to be Molly so I could be called Mollywobbles..
Oh well, guess I'll name a dog or cat that in the future and call her that.
