not at all. you have done nothing offensive.
it is just seems unusual for a grown man in his 50's who is not greek affiliated to seek out and join a website about greek life.

I stumbled upon this web site by accident. I have to say that I found some of the postings quite interesting. I work in consumer research and spend a lot of time on college campuses.
Back in the 1970s at colleges in the northeast, joining a fraternity or sorority would be have been considered unusual at the very least.
It is not that I am anti-Greek, far from it. I notice that in a lot of postings, the advice given is "go where you feel that you fit in." To be honest, I didn't feel that I would fit in with the fraternities on my campus back then. Like I said, under a different set of circumstances things could have been different

No, not really. Doing something that isn't the most popular thing on campus doesn't make it "unusual."

Well, by definition, if it isn't a usual thing, it's an unusual thing.

Well, he made it sound like it was like riding a unicorn down the street. I've seen yearbooks from the 1970s from Northeastern schools, and several of them have quite large and quite numerous sorority and fraternity chapters pictured. I think the OP is imposing his very small window of experience on a very large geographic region.

At least it's someone other than a Southerner doing it this time. For that, I am happy.
