I've eaten some things that other people would think are weird but I like. I've eaten reindeer before, and it's gooood! It's like very tender beef.
I've also had lutefisk on numerous occasions. It's a Norwegian thing - cod that is preserved in lye then reconstituted by being boiled. It's milky white colored and has a consistency close to scrambled eggs. Oh, and it's DELICIOUS!

Then I have probably provided you with a lifetime supply. I can't stand it. Ditto caviar. Blech.
Meanwhile, as I have mentioned before I do love me some haggis.

I agree on raw oysters, smoked oysters and caviar.
However, I just had to Google what haggis was and OMG.. no flippin way. NO!!!!!!
Squid, in the form of calamari is probably the most adventurous I've been. My list of foods I find disgusting is very, very long though, including beets, lima beans, liver, eggplant, and *almost* every other vegetable known to man.

Just threw up a little bit...
Sigh... when I was pregnant the first time... I had a craving for limestone or shale.
Yes - rocks.
Blame it on a mineral deficiency, or pica, or whatever. I was a geologist at the time, and anytime I was out in the field with a drill crew, and if the drill augers brought up perfectly clean limestone or shale fragments, into my mouth they went. I would just suck on them though, I knew better than to swallow.

The Great Chieftan o' the Puddin' Race, as Robert Burns put it.
It sounds worse than it tastes. It tastes kind of like spicy liver -- and I love liver.
I can get why reading what's in it can be . . . off-putting . . . to some. But Kevin is right, it's just cultural conditioning. Every culture eats some things that other cultures would find gross. American food producers are just better at hiding the less appealing animal parts in processed meats, sausages, hot dogs . . . .

I have been to a Scottish pub in STL and they serve haggis that is minus most of the offal. I don't really know how that works, but I intend to order it if I grace their door again.

Hmmm, I'll have to try that. I can't remember if I had smoked oysters or clams. I think it was clams.
I think I tend to gross people out sometimes, because I love my french fries with mustard. I mean, I literally drown my french fries with mustard. It's funny because whenever I go out to eat with someone I've never been out with, they look at me like I'm nuts as they keep watching me pour on more and more mustard on my french fries. Yummy.

Eel maybe? Is escargot weird? How 'bout pho full of mystery meat?
I think some of the weirdest, most bizarre foods I've come in contact with were named perfectly normal things at Chinese buffets, e.g., "chicken" which I can see through when I hold it up to the light. Also, dim sum at a certain restaurant in the Asian District in OKC can be an adventure.
Considering the fact that most of us omnivores are big fans of highly processed meats such as hot dogs, at least intellectually, I have a tough time judging any other culture for its bizarre cuts of meat. In the Philippines, I understand chicken anus is popular... but I can't judge--I've had McDonald's chicken mcnuggets.

I had a hard time eating escargot. The texture is disgusting, I don't care how much butter you drown it in...
The other night s/o had a sour cream sandwich. There was nothing else on it, but sour cream slathered on both pieces of bread. I had to leave the room; I couldn't watch him eat it.

I had either squid or something like a mini octopus at my super Italian ex-bf's house. They took it out of the pot, and it was a whole octopus, right on my plate. It looked like this (sorry for the huge pic, that's why I'm not posting it here): http://epicureaddict.files.wordpress...ctopus-002.jpg
Aside being weirded out by having a whole octopus on my plate, it actually wasn't terrible. I didn't care for the texture--it was a bit chewy--but it didn't taste bad at all.

Had gator once. It wasn't bad.

I've eaten at Maggiano's once. I will never go back and I love Italian food. I ordered something that I can only describe as "Cheesy Maggots". This was the worst "pasta" I've ever eaten in my life!

To this day this is still grosses me out.
I am Italian decent and in my household we ate a lot of salami, beef of course. Also, I do not like any kind of fish, fresh or sea water. I am weird.
Back in my days living in San Jose, CA, I went to an alumnae Alpha Xi pool party where salami was served, so I thought. I took a piece and it was the fishiest tasting salami I ever had. Come to find out, one of ladies brought back this gift from Australia, and it was Kangaroo. I can’t remember if I’ve fainted or died. I had a hard time keeping my composure.
