At my school we made the switch from Rho Chis to Recruitment Counselors in 2004 or 2005 I think. We just called them RCs for short and it was perfectly fine (although I did like the Rho Chi name). But all schools approach change differently- and ours was a smaller system not as deeply rooted in tradition as other schools.

It seemed like you were pretty ambivalent, which might have come across to the chapters. Or, taken another way, it reads that you already have a lot going on. If you want to try again, go head and do so, But it sounds to me that you know that you don't NEED a sorority to make you "college life". Good luck!

Recruitment can be a very strange beast. Sometimes you understand every little thing, and sometimes nothing makes sense. Unfortunately you have no way of knowing why you were paired with the same person, or why any of the groups released you. The system does work for a lot of people, but unfortunately not everyone.
Some schools have informal recruitment a week or two after formal. Do you know if your school offers that? Any group that did not reach Total (the maximum number of members allowed by Panhellenic) can participate if they wish. Check with your Panhellenic office to see if there are any informal events scheduled. This method can sometimes work out for women who don't make it through formal because you can get to know the chapters in a more relaxed environment.

Schools with deferred recruitment will often have COR in the fall for upperclassmen, and COR right after formal for both upperclassmen and freshmen.
I can understand why you may not want to go to that group's events. However, since you only spent time with one person for the bulk of formal- it may be worth a shot to see how the other women in the chapter are.
Is there a reason you aren't considering any other groups? That's how it sounds, anyway... definitely give the others a shot. Some shine during formal, others shine during informal. You don't know until you try.

Seemed being the operative word here. If they have informal, give the others a chance. Then you can make a more informed decision. Good luck!

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe snap bidding occurs right away, so if you did receive a snap bid, you would receive it today (since, as you said, today is your school's bid day).

Snap & COR are two different things. Snap bids will be given out at the same time as regular bids. If you receive a bid through COR it could be at any time, although most sororities prefer to give them out as quickly after rush as possible so the women can be in the same pledge class.
