1 or 2 of the kids busted was a GDI. I don't think I saw mention of that in the article
EW, they should let Liz go.... Keep Sarah.

If the Chess Team was involved with dealing coke etc., that surly would be major headlines.

Besides, you might get hit by a car going down Hillsborough St.

Thanks. I had to re-read her post to catch that.

Absolutely - I would run with that as a headline if I was the editor.
Anyway - a story run in the school newspaper will usually mention the affiliation of the students if its known. That's the case whether they're an athlete (i.e. - "Member of Basketball Team Arrested), on student government ("Student Senator Arrested"), or any number of other groups or organizations.

I'm of the mind that Sarahs probably cuter than Liz, but Sarahs been raging at every fraternity house for the last four days straight and hasn't showered yet. Liz looks like she put some make up on to do a coke deal.

Hillsborough St. is at North Carolina State University...not the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill.

There is one at UNC also... perpendicular with Franklin, kinda runs parallel to MLK then runs into it.
I have noticed that the DTH is pretty anti-Greek--or perhaps the school admin is and the DTH just reports on it. But this week, there were at least three front-page stories mentioning Greek life (often in a bad light). E.g., yesterday and a fraternity being put on social probation for a year, the tensions between administration and the Greek system, now this story today, I could go on...

Yeah, if a student is affliated with any group and gets arrested its going to be a headline. The DTH also had a headline about the swim team getting busted for having a party. I'm shocked at how anti-greek the DTH is with as many Greeks as they have on staff.
In respect to this article, since the writer is Greek she would have been screwed either way. Had she left out the affliations then she would have been blasted. Putting the affliations in however makes people think this is some large vendetta.

Some more info. Not too much depth but it appears that the papers want to play it for all they are worth.

Must be kind of a slow news day.
Far more interesting is this article
