I think remember Miami of Ohio having all the NPC sororities in the late 80s or early 90s? (I also am dating myself).

I think it's sad when chapters close down. I do think it would be great if more campuses had more options, though. Since I think all of the groups are great organizations.

How many more options do you need when you have ALL 26 NPCs, and then some, on a campus?

Sorry, Zillini and libelle, but maybe it just seemed like y'alls schools had every NPC.
Illinois has had 25/26. They have never had a chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau.
Miami of Ohio has had 23/26. They have never had chapters of Phi Sigma Sigma, Delta Phi Epsilon, or Theta Phi Alpha.

When I looked into it, I found 95 chapters...however, I was just counting ACTIVE chapters...there's a few chapters listed on illinigreeks.com that says "inactive". Also, I know that 1 IFC chapter has closed in the last few years.
But AFAIK, we still have the most with 95
ETA: And thank you LaneSig, I was just about to post about the Miami of Ohio thing too! Penn State as also almost had every NPC. Like Illinois, the only NPC that has never been there is Alpha Sigma Tau.

I meant other campuses besides the ones mentioned as having a large number. Mine, for instance, only has nine.

My bad. 25/26 seemed like all of them to my wide eyed 18 year old self.

99!! Wow! That totally blew my mind. Our campus has about 10 GLOs...5 sororities and 6 fraternities. I can't even imagine!
I'm relatively new to the Greek world...are all of these GLOs organizations like the NPC ones I'm most familiar with, or do they count academic/honors societies (ex. Psi Chi or Alpha Lambda Delta) in with the 99?

9 still is a lot of sisterhood to choose from.

All 95 (like I mentioned before) are social GLOs.

Oops...must have missed that! How does recruitment work then? Do people have to rush all of the houses? (Last year when I rushed we had 6 sororities, so visiting all of them in one day wasn't really that hard. We had a 6-4-2 elimination process, so it was pretty straightforward) I can't even imagine rushing all 37 (or however many there are) sororities at once!
Anyone with experience in this care to enlighten me??

Guys don't have to visit every chapter when rushing like girls do. Also NPHC rush is different than NPC rush.

Illinois has (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) 19 NPC sororities that participate in formal recruitment. I believe their party structure for formal recruitment is 19-13-7-3. The other 1 NPC sorority does their own COB process and the other 15 (or so) are NPHC or other council groups that do their own intake/recruitment/rush process.

I think it would be nice to at least see all the organizations first hand, rather than just going off of "public opinion." That being said, I am extremely happy where I am. And there is talk of an expansion here as well.

University of Alabama has 16 panhellenic sororities and a whole ton of NPHC, I am not sure how many total, though.
