Ha! When the sixth book came out, I went out to dinner with a bunch of friends about a week later. I thought everyone had finished reading it and blurted out that I was sad Dumbledore had died. My friend Michael had not read the book and has not forgiven me to this day. Actually, he probably really hasn't forgiven me because then I got mad and blamed him for not telling me so that I wouldn't ruin the ending for him. See how it was all his fault?!

Maybe I should back out of this thread... I'm only on the fourth book (I just got into them this summer) but I had already known Dumbledore dies because of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h05ZQ7WHw8Y

First of all, I don't understand why this post was moved to Chit Chat. I posted it under SORORITY RECRUITMENT because it's my story about rush! I am a real person (a girl!) going through recruitment in the fall and I still wanted to share my story without ruining my experience (ie. having some find out who I am). Every GCer has always said DISCRETION, DISCRETION, DISCRETION. So this is a legit story about recruitment, which will have a legit ending. Still confused as to why it's in Chit Chat.
Second of all, like jojajpeach said, if you don't like it - don't read it. I can't even tell you how many times I've read GCers saying (in regards to Greek Life) "if you don't like it, don't join it". Same goes for posts. You don't HAVE to read this thread, there are hundreds of other threads. So don't come on here saying you're avoiding this thread, when you're actually clearly reading it and posting on it. And you guys wonder why PNMs are afraid to post on here  .
This goes for everyone. I know some people think Harry Potter is stupid. I know some people hate recruitment stories. I know some people hate "stupid PNMs who don't know anything".
Then again, I know some people who like Harry Potter. I know some people who love recruitment stories. I know some people love rooting on PNMs going through rush. These are the people I am writing for - well, and myself as well.
Avod it like the black plague if you don't like it, no skin off my back !
ps. Didn't mean to offend anyone or come off rude..but I just had to post what I feel.

I hope no one else will ruin the other books for you in this thread and hope you can still enjoy it. This thread was not meant to talk about the books because I realize everyone hasn't finished them yet. So, hopefully no more CHIT CHAT about the books  .
(ps. You really should finish them though, so good!)

I was listening to some radio morning show about to drive to work. It was about a week or so after the 6th book came out and the male DJ mentioned something about Dumbledore's death. All of a sudden, it was reeeeaaaalll quiet. You heard a woman fussing at him in a whisper and he whispered back, "I thought everyone knew??? What do we do??" It was quiet for another 10 seconds or so and then cut to a commercial.
