You might also want to look into San Antonio Junior League (google it). I was in a sorority in college, and I'm now in the JL. It's somewhat similar...it's a selection process not unlike rush, very social and philanthropic. JL is a pretty big deal all over Texas, so I'm sure SA's chapter is very active.

thank you titchou for pointing out that samford does have sororities and fraternities(and has had for many, many years).

dcconline,my daughter is a member of a sorority at samford. samford is affiliated with the baptist church-as is baylor. don't generalize.

And Pepperdine, which has 7 NPCs, is CoC.

And most HBCU's are faith based and have NPHC's (I know I'm lane swerving), so generalizing doesn't always work--that's all I was saying.

Found the thread: http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...mma+Chi&page=3.

I couldn't find the thread, however, where a few of us (KSigRC, damasa, etc.) put together the dissident group Phi Gamma Chi.

It seems like we all had entirely too much time on our hands in college.

Greekchat must remember the horrors of Gamma Chi lest history repeat itself.

Yeah, it was a while ago. I remembered that I was fairly new to the board (only around a couple of years) when it all started.

Just because a college is faith based does not exclude it from having sororities. SMU, Baylor, and many other faith based colleges have sororities.
