If you're planning to have more than one child, it might be nice to stick to white or another soft pastel colored walls (someone mentioned taupe; grey would be nice, too), and choose the "soft" decor that can easily change to blue, too. It's easier to change blankets & hangings than furniture. If you're really sold on the photos, I like the third one down, first post (also the second one down on the left, first post).
Blondie93 makes a great point about baby clothing! As much as I coo over those "itty bitty" clothes, I always buy something in the 18-24 months size. One that goes over particularly well for girls is a denim jumper, with long- and short-sleeved tops. And always, a gift card for diapers!!

Ditto on that. When DH was born, he was a big baby and went straight into 6mo clothes - MIL had to return or exchange all the newborn clothes she got. Also, people don't always keep in mind that seasons change, and that a baby born in early summer isn't going to get a lot of mileage out of a newborn-sized winter snowsuit.
When my best friends have babies, I often knit baby blankets for them. Baby blankets don't have sizes. Blankets can be reused for subsequent babies, used in doll beds, incorporated into larger blankets, or handed down to the next generation.

I like the "mulberry" one, and the mostly green with a touch of pink one....
But....I absolutely DESPISE pink. When (hopefully, when, not if) I have a little girl, I'll be going with purple and "girly looking" blue. But I'm not having kids for at least 2 1/2 more years, if I have my way. Gotta get this grad school thing out of the way first.

I personally like a ladybug theme, but Raggedy Ann would be a nice choice too.
On a more serious note, what are the other colors in your house.

There are actually 2 ladybug themes in there. :-)
We like the idea of dark wood for the nursery furniture, and I wouldn't overload the room with decorations.
The walls in our house are a light almost-neutral blue, the molding is white, and we don't plan on re-painting.
Just about like this, but a smidge bluer.

I like the mushrooms and snails. Very Alice in Wonderland.

I really like the pink and brown with the geometric patterns. Very cool!

I like the last pic in the first post---the ladybugs! Cute, but not overly pinky and too girly. I don't really like the current trend of nursery themes that look like modern/floral adult patterns. A nursery should look like a child's room!

I like the pink and green one. Although the quilts are cute, unless you are going to use them as a wall hanging, you don't really need them- you aren't even supposed to use them. I ended up throwing mine over the back of the rocking chair.

Exactly. Winni, as long as the room is comfy for those who will undoubtedly be spending lots of time in there, that's all that matters. We didn't start using our cute quilts until well after our kids could stand up in their cribs. At that point, we had already taken down all the cute little fabric wall-hangings because the kids kept pulling them off the walls.
Seriously, I wish someone had told me to save the money for diapers instead of wasting it on all the stuff that made the nursery cute. When the babies came, the nursery became cute enough.

For some reason I get the catalogue for Bratt Decor. Their baby furniture is sooo beautiful and sooo expensive! Lots of celebs buy from there I think.
