w00ps. Forgot to include our FABULOUS new Tau Delta Kittens...with 9 pledges, we're up to 26!!! That's the biggest we've been in years, and we only have graduating seniors.

We have 6 actives and 6 new pledges. We haven't been on our campus for a year yet and we are the ONLY and first local, so we are really excited that people are interested in us.

We have 19 active members right now. The largest we have ever been is 40 and the smallest was our four founders.

I think our active chapter is somewhere around 40.
We had our formal last night, and it seemed a lot bigger. There were a ton of people there. That's always a great thing when your an alum who helped get the thing started
Ask Earp, he'll tell you.

yeah for locals!
Hey guys,
We currently have 33 members of our local sorority. We were the first sorority on campus and the only organization from the Lewis Institute still remaining (Lewis merged with Armour to become IIT). This past fall, we inducted 15 pledges (the National on campus only inducted 7 i believe), and initiated 11 of them. ( a few are carrying over next fall). Also, we have 7 pledges for spring rush which is unheard of on our campus. The most anyone ever gets for spring is 2.
I think we do a pretty good job without the whole national thing .

We just got three new pledges (on top of our 14), one of which is my grand-little. :-D
This brings us up to 50, which is cap. With 5 Nationals on Campus I think we're pretty damn good, it took a hell of a lot of work, but it paid off.

that's right...quantity doesn't necessarily constitute quality....
that's what i remind me and my sisters during recruitment. because while we're at a school with 25% girls..and most of them commuters. The largest sororities on campus are around 20 girls. but average is about 15 actives.
So when we're recruiting girls it's sometimes hard to not think about trying to get as many girs as possible. but what we try to do is get as many quality girls as possible. IF you dont' recruit quality girls, then you won't end up with a quality sisterhood.
local love!

National perspective
Hey, I'm in a national group and just wanted to encourage all the locals to keep going strong. I'm a memebr of the second largest sorority in the country (DZ) but my chapter has less than most of yours! We had 6 when I got in and now have 12. So you can keep up with us nationals.
As far as the locals on my campus:
Chi Alpha Tau sorority (founded 1979, i think): 12-14
Sigma Phi Delta sorority(founded in 1972, i believe): about 30
Omicron Gamma Omega fraternity (oldest fraternity still around on our campus, founded 1966): they have like 1 or 2 actual active brothers and are unfortunately going to die off. They havent had any pledges make it through in about 2 years. I think they've only had 1 or 2 pledges in that time. They all dropped because they hazed horribly and physically. Its sad cuz they ahev alot of great alumni who come back and are involved and they have some deep rooted tradition-they've fired a cannon made by their founders in 1966 after each touchdown at each homecomign game for the past 39 years.

We have 25 active members this semester and 4 pledges. Fraternities and sororities aren't allowed to pledge first-semester freshman, otherwise we would have had 11-12 pledges. We'll make up for it in the spring though.

Currently my chapter has 9 active members and 8 pledges. Active numbers are down because they have not had recruitment for a year. The Greek community at our school pretty much sucks and is given no support by the university. Delta Phi Epsilon went under this past year which leaves us and Phi Sigma Sigma for sororities.
