I saw that too! And then I thought maybe it said "EH" or something...as in he was wearing his high school's hat.

It's funny... a couple of months ago, I was buying flowers for my girlfriend/your sister (I must've screwed something up, though I don't remember what) and I was wearing my letters into the flower shop. I asked if they had violets because it was SigKap's flower, and she said no, but she was suddenly interested becuase she too was a Sigma Kappa. We talked for about 10 mins about that, bought my white rose instead (at least they had my fraternity's flower!) and headed along my merry way.
I always think it's so cool to run into complete strangers that you have that special bond with.

I was with a friend at a teacher supply store yesterday afternoon. As we were leaving, I saw a Tahoe with the SK letters on the back and a license plate frame that said Sigma Kappa. Alas, I had to leave so I didn't get to see the gal with the SUV.

I'm taking a summer class at a community college, and during one of the breaks one of the girls in the class approached me and said "I think I'm in your sorority, but I can't quite read your shirt from wear I'm sitting!" Turns out, she's a Sigma Kappa too, at the University of Illinois! Now I at least know someone in the class
I've also seen a few sisters at the gym I just joined, and I talked to one from University of Kansas (I think..) who flagged me down after seeing my lettered tote

Here's two stories:
1) My Dad was getting on an airplane from Milwaukee to Chicago when the flight attendant spotted his WSU hat. She came up and asked him if he was a coug. He said no but that he is a proud Cougar dad. Being my father, he struck up a conversation with the woman. Turns out she not only pledged Sigma Kappa at WSU (though she later dropped the house), she also graduated from my high school. She said that she still had some friends that are SK alums and that they've been hearing great things about our chapter.
2) The summer after my senior year I went to a friend's wedding in my hometown. She was actually friends with my older brother and was four years older than me in school but our family is good friends with her family. The head counselor from the day camp I used to work at was there which I thought was weird because Jen and Vanessa were never really friends in high school. So I come to WSU a week later and go through recruitment on a total whim (I'm not the "sorority girl type" so I really went through just to see the insides of the houses.), and I get to Sigma Kappa on the first day and Jen, the head counselor, is standing outside as president of Sigma Kappa, which really made me think that maybe I too could be a sorority girl because Jen isn't the "sorority type" either. At the end of the week, I was given a bid to SK. From there it took a while for me to figure out that Vanessa was also a Sigma Kappa and a lot of my new sisters were at the wedding, sitting at the table next to me the whole time. My big sis was even one of Vanessa's bridesmaids.

Two "small world" stories.
The only other message board i've ever posted on (before this one) is for a band. It's actually how I met my boyfriend (geeky, I know -he runs the website ) ANYWAY, turns out someone started a thread, i think asking about sororities, and I said something about being in one. I got a private message from someone, asking which one. Turns out she was a Sigma K too! It was nice to connect, and though we have yet to meet in person, it's fun to chat.
When I pledged, i went home and was showing my pledge book to my mom. Her good friend was over, and I knew the friend had been a Sigma K (same chapter, i didn't know this until about 2 days after I accepted the bid, so that was fun). She was looking at my family tree page, and lo and behold - her biological sister was my great-great-great-great grandbig (or somethign to that effect). I knew here sister, but didn't know her maiden name - so now it's fun that i'm in the same family with my mom's friend!

Another SK and I were walking in a parking lot yesterday wearing our philanthropy shirts and a lady is putting her kid in the car and as we walk past, she sticks her head around the corner and says "I'm a Sigma Kappa." It was fantastically exciting.

When I was at a recent union meeting, another teacher sat next to me. I dropped my pen and bent to retrieve it when I noticed her Sigma Kappa tote bag. I got excited and it turns out she was an alumna to the chapter I now advice. Small world but I met a new friend.

I'm so glad this thread resurfaced! Just the other week I was at Jazzercise & a woman approached me because of my Sigma Kappa recruitment shirt I was wearing. Turns out, she is a founding sister of the my chapter! It was so exciting to meet her, and learn more about the founding sisters. She probably thought I was crazy but I asked her a million questions! LOL When I asked for her email address she was almost hesitant to give it to me (but I've been good, I haven't harassed her anymore! LOL)

I haven't actually seen it, but twinkle555 saw a red jeep with an SK sticker on campus last week. She thought it was mine, but apparently there is another SK around here somewhere! I'm trying to find out who - probably someone else from my chapter who came here from grad school.

Fun story... I was in Jax, FL with two other sisters and we went to a mall to do some shopping. The sister that was driving has a SK sticker on her car and we came out to the car to find a note on the windshield. We never found out who wrote it but all we know is it was some sisters in the area.
A couple weeks later, I was at another shopping center and returned to my car to find another note from a sister who had spotted my decal. SHe happened to see me walking to my car, as she was behind me walking out of the store. She yelled my name, and I turned to see my great great grand big. She didnt know it was me when she wrote the note.
Moral of these stories: Sigma K's are born to shop!!!

My job just added another intern from my university... and she's a SK! It's doubly random since my school has no Greek Life and nearly all grad students come from somewhere else in the first place!

I saw a Sigma Kappa sticker on another car in the med school parking lot!!! This campus doesn't have a chapter, so I was understandably thrilled. There was a college of nursing patch in the back, so I'm guessing she is a nursing student. I left a note on the windshield - hopefully she'll call me, since there aren't nearly enough of us around here!
