Es tut mir Leid! Gredericka?
I would like to say that even though I started this thread awhile back, the Austins and Destinys and rhymes-with-Aidens are still terrorizing our schools here and my kids know they should never name a kid any of those.

It's funny to me how it's always a friend who knows these people with the urban legend names. It's also funny to me how gullible people can be at swallowing bullshit when someone's pulling his/her leg when the story being told feeds into his/her preconceived notions about a group of people.
Just saying.
So back to the spirit in which the thread started rather than this precipitously racist one it appears to be going down. What are the names of demon spawn children you've known over the years that have ruined that name for you forever? Orangejello, Female, and Shithead were perfect angels when they were in the after school program I worked in college, but Tanner and Ryan were simply awful.

My mom went to school with a girl named Chrys Lear.
Her full name was Chrystal Chanda Lear.
My great-grandmother went to school (in Texas) with Ima Hogg.
In my small town in Oklahoma, there were 2 women who married into the names of Blanche Branch and Grace Brace.
I also went to Junior High with a Sharelle Dorrell.

I HATE the name Austin because of one kid who tormented me in middle school. He was the only person in all of my schooling who essentially bullied me.

My friend's cousin married into the last name Beach. Her first name is Sandy.
There's a woman who works for my company whose name is Nancy Chancy.

Angelo and Giovanni as their mothers LIED not only to my administration but to CID accusing me of child abuse. Even if I liked those names, I don't know.
I also could never name my kid Cody. Every Cody I've ever had was HORRIBLE!

I had a Shaleah and a Thalia (pronounced Ta-Leah) in the same class (geometry) last year. In a different class (algebra 2) I had a Dhaakira (Dah-Kira) and Jakira (Jah-Kira). In the same class as Dhaakira and Jakira I had a set of identical twins. Oy vey.

I do love when this thread gets bumped every so often. I can add many names to my list from 2008 now.
We had our first baby last year and it was very difficult to come up with names. I ended up asking my mom to go back in the family tree and give me some dead relative names.

I went to HS with a kid who was named Dick Putz. His first name was Richard and he (on his own) picked Dick instead of Rick, etc. He was one year above me. I was never able to say his name without giggling.
My husband had a freshman year roommate named Oral Lackness. I kid you not. I have met him. WTF?!

I would never name my children Malia or Gabriel. They were two of the worst children I have ever worked with. As stated in earlier posts I would also never name my child Jaden, not because I don't like the name but because there are just so many of them. There were 3 at the Sunday school I used to teach at and 4 at the preschool I work at now. Apparently J names are really popular now so nothing with a J either. Last year alone 6 of my 13 students had names beginning with J. And just as many in the other preschool classes.

At my old school, a bunch of us teachers were avoiding work and sharing stories one morning and an English teacher told all of us that she once had a female student named....
Vaginae (VAJA-NAE).
Never....ever....ever would I name a child that. Ever.
