I hope she comes back. With newbie and KABillyMac, they're the only ones I really miss, anyway.

hey...thanks for the kind words everyone. Especially from the other "old school" GCers.

I stopped posting for about a year for a couple reasons. Mainly just been really really busy...
Early 2004, studied for and then took the Bar Exam (aka Two Days in Hell), then I started work. Man, I miss college! Being an attorney isn't exactly a leisurely lifestyle. One of my best friends works for my firm too, at another office, and we both agree that "it's
hard to think all day!" I get home and I'm just tired. I'm now up to at least 2 cups of coffee a day.
Took a trip to NYC in August 2004. Moved across town in November. Then holidays. Then Uncle got married. #2 for him, #3 for her, wish 'em luck, folks! My firm drafted the prenup for him, so his butt is covered.
Work got insane at the beginning of this year. Took my first depositions. Successfully settled a few cases. Currently working on a big investment fraud case.
I've periodically stopped in GC but haven't really gotten into it for awhile. For one thing, it has now been about 5 years since I was an active Greek. My chapter has been gone awhile and I would rather stick a fork in my eye than ever be active with them again. They sold our chapter house to a bank and it was bulldozed a couple months ago. Of course, no warning to any of the alumnae - one of my sisters went up to Gainesville for a meeting and drove past to see bulldozers moving the last bits of rubble around and nearly ran off the road in shock. Anyway, I think the situation with my house has been debated just about to death (mainly by people who knew jacksh*t about what really happened) so let's move on.
Another thing, when i did peek at the threads, there was usually some random confusing drama going on. People crashing the party from other websites, lots of posts clogging up the boards with nonsense, etc. (WTF is H&A anyway???)
Things are chilling out a little lately so I'll probably try to post more. And by the way, the grocery store guy turned out to be a complete jerk. Was supposed to be my date to a wedding and stood me up. Don't worry, I'm ok. That was a long time ago now. I spent the last year dating a lot of other lawyers - bad, bad, BAD IDEA! But I just met someone new recently, and he's not a lawyer, so we'll see.
