We need to remember snap bidding is only for those chapters not matching quota. So it is unlikely someone who dropped from formal recruitment would accept a bid from a chapter not making quota. The chances are decreased even more that the chapter the person wants is extending a bid to someone they dropped.

Not always true. If RFM is set too tightly then it is entirely possible for a strong chapter to have to snap bid. If you're a strong recruiting chapter and you can only invite 2x quota to preference, you could easily miss quota by 1 or 2 if you have invited girls to preference who were legacies to their other pref chapter and rank their legacy chapters over yours. It happens more than you think because snap bids aren't always visible to the majority of the chapter.

I never said anything that was absolute. I used the word unlikely. The odds are further diminished that a top chapter missing quota by 1 or 2 and the pnm doing an sip would want the same thing. I have worked with RFM since it started. I know every once in a while a top chapter misses quota by 1 or 2 but that is not the norm.

Weird stuff happens.

IIRC, someone recently posted a rush story that involved a snap bid (that ended up expiring before they could accept) from a mid-tier chapter they'd really wanted from the jump.

And some PNMs will have changes of heart about mid/lower tier chapters after dropping out. We definitely benefited from snaps.

DPhiE pledged 32 during formal recruitment. Following informal recruitment, I heard that they pledged 14 or 15 more women.

I had heard initially that ASA pledged ten during formal recruitment, but then I heard that they pledged four women during formal. Following informal recruitment, the chapter posted a picture on instagram with 20 new pledges. So not sure if the pledge class after formal + informal is 20 or 24. And that doesn't take into consideration any additional COB they may have done in the weeks since informal ended.

Informal hasn't ended yet. I believe that those offered and accepted bids during informal have a Panhellenic orientation the beginning on March and PHA would like for informal to have concluded by then, but there is no rule that sororities have to stop. Informal can continue until the last day of the semester if the sorority so choses.

Yes, I was referring to the open invitation, informal recruitment events that ASA and DPhiE held the week after formal recruitment ended. I understand that they may continue doing COB throughout the semester.

For ASA according to their instagram they're still hosting events and even the PHA themselves have been advertising for them too. Not too sure about DPhieE.

Thanks. Does anyone know the reason why D Phi E is moving out the Tri Delt house?

They are? I knew TPA was moving out of their house and going back to being unhoused, but I didn't know DPhiE was moving out too.
