D has 3 for prefs, she likes all 3 and is really torn between 2 of them in particular.
I found this morning to be the worst day of all for me and my nerves. I mean, it is about me right?

My daughter was asked back to two houses. She has a clear favorite. I am a bundle of nerves. Is it possible to be released from recruitment after the pref round or will she be getting a bid from one of them?

If she goes to all the parties she was invited to and lists all her possible choices on her pref card - she will get a bid to one of them

If she chooses to SIP (single-intentional preference) or suicide bid, it is very possible to not match. But, if she maximizes all her options (recommended) and writes down both groups on her MRABA (pref card), she is theoretically guaranteed a bid, barring outstanding circumstances (i.e. she got hauled off to jail for murder in the middle of a pref party)

Thank you! Whew, That is a load off my mind. She did not get asked to three prefs so I was not sure. She can see herself in either sorority so I am sure she will maximize her options.

My daughter received invites from her top 3 after Skits...she is feeling very lucky and grateful. She would be happy with any of them, although she has two she really, really loves. She said she isn't sure how to rank them, although I'm sure the parties today will help her make up her mind. I'm so happy for her (and for me...I can finally take a deep breath). My husband thinks it's all "fine", but he certainly is not feeling any anxiety. Absolutely unfair!

Sorry I haven't posted all week. It's been hard and I didn't want to say something stupid or jeopardize my daughters rush. Today she got her top three from Skit. She likes all three houses but has one clear favorite. She has really had fun this week. She has kept a clear head and everything in perspective. I think watching her roommate and friends melt down everyday over one thing or another has made her realize this is not life or death. She has had a great time and made some new friends which really is the goal here.

She sounds like a girl any of the three houses would be very lucky to have!

Good, and don't apologize. We love hearing stories after the fact, but it's always wise to be discreet.

I thought parties went til 5:30? In which case, quota won't be determined until the number of girls signing their pref cards is known.
It could be around 80 though (which is a pretty significant jump from last year if so)

Also, I'm excited to hear about Bid Day! Auburn's Bid Day is one of the first two for my group (along with UCF)!

This number is probably a point in the quota range that was told to chapters so they can start getting their final lists together. Every year it seems the initial number is one that some folks hold onto even though quota could be and most likely be +/- that initial number.
As you mentioned the RFM specialists won't even start running the numbers until all MRABAs are signed.
Tomorrow will be an exciting day!
