Just a suggestion-
You could e-mail John an interim "Thank You" note. (I prefer hand written but it's easy to respond to e-mail) Something like

...I wanted to take a moment and thank you for all your help. I know we couldn't have come this far without you!
THEN ADD
Is there anything I can to do to help the process? Do you have all the information you need? I was wondering what we can expect to happen next. Since this is all new to me, I can only hope all is going well.

If there is anthing I can do or need to be aware of, please let me know.
Forever Grateful,....

You have written some great letters, this is just a sketch. It opens the door to more communication and pats him on the back at the same time.

I think an email thank you is a great idea!
Also, things are probably a little crazy in student affairs, i know at my school they are doing all the senior registration for next year and getting ready for the holidays. so just take a breather, concentrate on your own stuff for right now and give john a call on monday or tuesday.

Talking agreed

an e-mail is good...followed by a phone call next week and an offer to help in any way.
you're still ok.
trust yourself.
we're with you

I tried to call John again and his number isn't working. I'm starting to freak out! I'm trying to go through the campus directory to get his number, but all of this makes me rather nervous. On the plus side, I turned 19 this weekend and had an absolutely amazing time!!!

Sorry, I know I am rather late for this, but I just wanted to say what a TREMENDOUS job you have been doing. I am so proud of you for having such initiative and for going for what you want! I am sure soo many girls at UCSC are very happy for what you are doing. Also, HAPPY HAPPY belated birthday!!! I hope you are doing well, and I wish you luck!! I really hope that you will indeed be the founder of the next sorority to come to UCSC! Keep the faith, and believe in yourself!

(Sorry, I know this sounded like such a pep talk :embarrassed: )

Take care,
Newbie

I too am wondering what's happening. Are they on a quarter or semester system? Could be that this is a rough time to accomplish anything with finals and the semester ending.
Maybe we won't hear anything until the mid year graduation is over and the new semester starts.

Hi all,

I am indeed on the quarter system here at UCSC, which explains why I haven't had much time to post. I called John again yesterday and left him a message....I don't understand why he's not getting in touch with me, but it kinda sucks. This week I have three finals and three huge essays due, so I really haven't even had time to think about sorority stuff. I would really like it if I could hold rush next quarter for us as a local sorority, and then maybe by spring quarter all of this stuff will be taken care of and I could be a real live NPC sorority. But right now everything is just slowed to a halt and I'm so terribly frustrated. Have you ever had one of those weeks where literally every aspect of your life is just going wrong? That's what my week has been like. But hopefully if I can just get through finals and get home things will be easier. Anyway, I'm going to stop whining now. I could always go to John's office, but I'm embarrased because I feel like he doesn't want to talk to me.....I don't know what to do right now. Any suggestions?
