THey had discussed making informal like fraternity recruitment - ie off campus which is a big no-no!!

There are 2 that are 10 or more under, maybe 3.

I heard that they had nixed the idea of raising ceiling until everyone was close to ceiling. Out of the other 9, except for maybe one almost everyone is between 50-60 members.

First of all, I want to congradulate all of the Houses that had ladies that made it on the Panhel exec board on Tuesday night-- DPhiE, Chi Omega, AEPhi, Tri Sigma and Theta Phi Alpha.

Secondly, Every year the Pitt News has a readers poll that votes for the Bests and and the Worsts of the University. This year, I am Proud to announce that the priviledge has gone to Theta Phi Alpha! We are all overwhelmed. To see the article, go herehere !!!

p.s. Phi Kappa Theta won best fraternity. They accidentally spelt their name wrong though!! Biggg faux pas.

How did they misspell Phi Kappa Theta? By the time I looked online it was fixed.

Congratulations to Theta Phi Alpha & Phi Kappa Theta - and to the Pitt News for even picking Best Sorority/Best Fraternity!! I thought I'd never live to see the day! I had more good times at the Phi Kap house than I really care to mention!

Congratulations also to the new Panhel Board!

Congratulations to Theta Phi Alpha and Phi Kap! I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the Pitt News acknowledging that there are good greeks out there.

This is my favorite part of the article; probably Honeychile and I are the only ones here who remember this...

Best Pitt tradition: Penn State Sucks

My heart swelled with pride when I saw this year's best Pitt tradition. Honestly, I didn't expect anyone to remember it.

You see, shortly before I arrived on campus, Pitt put an end to our chants of hatred for a team we won't play for many years. Apparently, the administration wasn't a big fan of tens of thousands of voices clamoring for a rival their football team wasn't playing.

They thought it was disrespectful or something.

But we know better.

Hating Penn State isn't just a tradition; it's a way of life here. It's part of what makes us Pitt, whether or not their terrible football team is scheduled to lose to us in any given year.

It's amazing and wonderful that, in a school where so many traditions have died away - a moment of silent rage for Pitt script, here - we can still embrace a rivalry that most of the students here will never see on the field during their enrollment.

So rise, upperclassmen, educate the young'uns about the glory of their forebears! Teach them the war cry of those who came before, so that no uptight administrator will ever silence our vow of contempt.

And, for those of you who haven't been bathed in the blood of Pitt's holy rivalry, listen and learn. No matter the time, no matter the sport, no matter the opponent, there is only one thing to remember:

Penn State sucks, Penn State sucks, P-E-N-N-S-T sucks!

Do you remember the "oh so risque" FA - Q PSU pins?

I still have that, and one that says, "I support two teams: Pitt and whoever's playing against Penn State"! And I have tons of relatives who are Penn State proud - and some who have taught there!

Wow, I forgot all about those! lol I'm sure I still have a few somewhere though

Another risque memory is the Homecoming T-Shirt from, I think, 1988. We were playing the US Naval Academy and the shirts said "SWALLOW THE SEAMEN"!!!

Well, coming from a hometown closer to PSU, we also saw the T-shrits that said "Shitt On Pitt." Great choice to wear to the school awards assembly.

Myself and some of my sisters are going out next Friday for my b-day, probably the south side - anyone who wants to hook up with us is welcome, let me know - but if y'all want to get together someplace where we can actually converse, we can do that too. Next week is out, but any time after then works for me.

Danielle, is there anything decent in the strip or is it sucky because of the parking? I guess Chemistry has a cover now but hasn't felt the need to institute any specials

I'm up for it, but things are starting to get hectic because of the summer and quite frankly I'm already sick of the bar! "Hi would you like to try a sample of IC Light Pittsburgh original low carb beer."

Random - I saw Donnie Iris on new years eve at the hard rock cafe, we were sitting next to his sister haha. His 2 nephews play in a band - outbound, I think that was it they are pretty good IMO.

Just keep posting here, i haven't had time to pop onto here lately.

I'm up for whatever. I'm actually enjoying the summer. Work is busy, but I'm done at definately times. Mid July will be bad for me b/c i'm moving the hell out of the city to yuppieland.......
