I've been bawling since Fox News (yes) called it. This is so awesome. I know I talk about my nephew a lot to some of you guys, and he is just tickled pink. He really looks up to Barack Obama, and I am so happy that he can look to the President-Elect and see a man who looks like him. This is just so great. My grandparents lived in Jim Crow Florida, Tennessee, and Alabama, and I'm sure they never expected to see this in their lifetime.
Those are also some cute little girls. I'm glad they're getting that puppy.
Also, Inauguration will be held the Tuesday after the MLK birthday holiday.

Obama is a great speaker, but I feel like in the future, when perhaps the best rhetoritician may not be the smarter of the two candidates like today, it may be important for the American people to know that the plural of "anecdote" is not "data" . . . however, other than the 106 year old woman as the weak anchor, I like this a lot.

There really is not much else left to say. After I was done (running around the house and tearing through the front yard in glee). I came in side, fell down and cried. I have no voice. My throat is raw from screaming. But I'm so damn happy. See you at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue President Obama!

Ok, the story about the 106-year-old actually pulled a sob out of me.
Yes we can.

They Joes will look at their paychecks and realize their $250,000 salary is missing a zero, and will then get a refund based on the Obama plan that McCain's tax plan would have reserved for the rich.

Newspaper "shortage"
I heard a story, while on the way home, that surprised me to the point I had to "fact check" it. Which in turn lead to a few other surprises.
Today's entire production run of The New York Times SOLD OUT. And The Times, in what maybe a first, ran an afternoon production run of 50,000 more papers.
Their web site hit a new record for hits.
This is the web sites front page for todays paper:

Today's Times Sells Out! Printing Extra 50,000 Copies for Afternoon Rush; NYTimes.com Breaks Another Record
http://www.observer.com/2008/media/t...com-breaks-ano
While looking this up, found that this not only happened to the rest of the papers in NYC (NYC has about 4-5 different papers), it also happened around the rest of the county!!!
http://cbs4.com/local/obama.presiden....2.857277.html
http://blogs.reuters.com/mediafile/2...spapers-today/
And I found this site which has the front page of papers around the world.
NOTE: Running very slow due to very high volume. Wonder why???

There was a really touching live segment that ran just now on a local San Diego station. There was an African American couple speaking live on-air to a news reporter at the civic center downtown, San Diego's "election central". With tears in their eyes, they described about how much Sen. Obama's win means to them.
The wife described how she was about 5-6 years old when she walked along side her mother during civil rights marches and how they thought they'd never see the day a black man is elected President, but had always hoped for it. The husband talked about how much hope this win for Sen. Obama brings to the people and how proud he is to be an American. Then, just as the reporter was sending the segment back to the studio, the man became moved again and started crying.
It's really awesome to see how much this election has meant to so many people.
