-There were some guys flashing signs at their peeps when they walked across the stage. PLEASE tell me those were fraternity signs or something.
-Purple and bright green suits galore!
-This boy (who was old enough to know better) shouted "MAAMAAA I GOTTA GO BOO BOO!"
-Even some Indian people were clowing. This one chick shouted "You rock my world Haffa!" I LMAO because it sounded like she said something else.
-This one guy next too me was so distracting because he was smacking on bbq fritos. Ummm, no food allowed in the auditorium!
-This old lady must have mistaken this as a church service. She was in her Nolan Miller suit and sparkly/lacy hat. When her grand-daughter crossed, she threw up her hands like she was worshipping the Lord.
-Some people were congratulating and yelling just to be doing so, regardless if they knew the people walking across the stage or not. Towards the end of the ceremony, some of the ghettoness rubbed on me! I stood up and yelled "WOO WOO!" (like the guy in that clip), along with them. OH man, that was fun!

Were you in Mississippi by chance? Just kidding, they save the bright green suits for Easter service.

Imagine same at City Court with lil man dressed in jeans half way down his bottom, no shirt, and an earring in his ear.

Minstel show "entertainment" such as:

"Fry That Chicken" (go to YouTube.com and type the words "Fry that chicken"). Nuff said.

The Chicken Noodle Soup dance (what the freak?)

Mack expert Tariq "Kingflex" Nasheed speaks on this in his online blog about cooning.

Excellent commentary. Very much on point.

I stopped watching videos. I miss the old school stuff with dances and something worth watching. If I see another booty-shaking, grill gleamin, how many expensive cars sittin on 22's with half naked chicks dancing on them video....
I noticed that alot when I went to Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH. Loads of people were from Cleveland and they were sporting Scream Fest tour shirts (think it was Omarion, Pretty Ricky) and it was pretty much the same thing.

What gets me though is that it's sometimes GROWN WOMEN saying those exact same things about young singers like Chris Brown or Bow Wow..I'm like you do know they're old enough to be your kids right?

I work with kids obviously and bluntly put some of their relatives are just straight bootleg...the kids actually hang their head in shame when one of their folks comes and pick them up...How are you gonna come pick your kid up (this is an older brother), with blue joggers almost by your knees and pink crocs showing off your crusty feet...needless to say my co-workers and I had a ball raggin on him LOL

We have nights where we get to meet the families..a potluck, why, at our last 'night', did one mother take OUR ENTIRE TRAY of chicken saying "this is for my cousin who couldn't be here, my daughter, my sister my husband" (when her husband was actually there waiting still on his first plate (LMAO); the other families were definitely perturbed at that mother.

We gave tours this past weekend and we were showing my school..it was also an open house (MIND YOU WE ARE THE ONLY MINORITIES IN A GOOD 1/2 MILE RADIUS), well we get propaganda for them about the school and their desired major,we take alot of info...and one of the kids goes by one of the dell computers and acts like she's yanking it out and tells her sister "unplug it from the back" I shoot her a look like "You are setting us back to the colonization era", and she says "Well you know us Mexicans love free S***" IN FRONT OF ALL THE TOUR GROUPS ALL OF WHOM WERE DOMINANTLY WHITE.....i seriously felt like running into the street in front of the speeding bus!

Again with our kids...Halloween is the 'holiday' I dread for various reasons (for the kids) and one of our kids confirmed my fears and left me red when someone on the street [an older Black woman] (as we trick or treated with them), asked me on the side "why do alot of minority folks let their kids dress up like hoochies? Don't they know it looks bad on us?" This little girl, 4th grader, came dressed as a 'sexy pirate' (YOU'RE IN 4th GRADE...SEXY SHOULD NOT...REPEAT NOT BE IN YOUR VOCABULARY). Showed up to our program with her skirt waaaay above knee level...if she sat wrong things would show, a low cut shirt and makeup smeared all over her face (real dark little girl with bright blue eyeshadow and LOUD red lipstick) with some humongous (sp?) open toed high heels...saying "My momma thought this was so cute..my older sister is a sexy flight attendant" needless to say I made wear that long old jacket over that horrid costume...yes I did 'ruin' (her words) her Halloween experience...but someone's gotta act like the parent...mind you she's the daughter of the same mother who took our entire chicken tray*SMH*

This reminds me of a trip we took senior yr of high school to the Cook County Courthouse....it embarassed me as the other school there were straight from the burbs and they took the behavior in the room as representative of the neighborhood...which isn't far from where I grew up (and I was the only person from that area )

I got a question for all of you...do you think it's only embarrassing when it's done around people who are not your race? Around one's own? Or anyone?

I get perturbed the most with people acting a fool INTENTIONALLY around other people, I think this only (in the eyes of the beholder), solidifies all the stereotypes about the group, I've actually apologized for someone of my folks' behavior even if I didn't know that person

I was so embarrassed today at my sister's graduation seeing my fellow Latinos acting a plum fool when their graduates came up.

What's worse, my sister's school is very diverse..like extremely and there are folks from all over the world, many of the names called we African, Arabic, and Asian...why the hell did my mom have to say OUT LOUD "what the hell kind of name is that?!"

Being that my sister was one of the last called up, I went to the hallway to prevent myself from hearing any more of that nonsense...adding onto that my dad was mimicking the Arabic names and he knows damn well most of my friends have Arabic names due to their religion or ethnicity

I love my folks but they can be straight up ignorant of other cultures sometimes!

some other Latin folks were being waaay too rowdy and I even heard a lady 3 seats above me say "They're being way too loud, are all Mexicans like that?!", some of the folks were yelling things out in Spanish that were completely inappropriate like "Yeah you can get a white girl with that degree now!", I seriously wanted to DIE right then and there....adding onto that the hood Latinos yelling out "yeah that's right that's my N**** Carlos, I see you n****"!

Skimpy Prom Dresses

I went to a public high school and there were some girls there that just did not choose to dress appropriately. My prom was filled with girls ardoned with prom "dresses" that were practically two piece. I was and still am embarassed when I see women of African descent dressed blatantly inappropriate, the perception of black beauty is already so fragile...

Another example... and what's more, people are standing in the background like it's Fashion Week or something! We could do so much better.

**When moms tell teachers and friends that "Lil Day Day don't NEED to do good in school cuz he 'gone be a rapper or a basketball player." Day Day is 8 years old and cannot read. You are an idiot.

**When she also thinks it's cute that while Lil Day Day can't read, he DOES know how to do the Soulja Boy.

Well, you know how most kneegrows do not celebrate Halloween with costumes... I guess they wear their "costumes" out when it is warmer...

I know right now it looks booboo... But, in a few years, the little girl's design will be the greatest of all get out and "they'll" be wearing in on the "red carpet" to the Oscars... When that happens, I'd be pissed off...

Now, the young lady should go to the Art Institutes, major in Fashion Design, wind up in France or Italy, and form "protest clothes" to just piss off adults.

That is NOT saying I liked the girl's dress, but it was ingenious. If there was a "dress code" for the prom, then the school educates the young people, ultimately, and should have told these girls why "revealing" clothes will not be tolerated... Moreover, how is that equal to the young men who dress like pimps--the pimphat and crunk juice? We are lucky to get the men out of their "$1,000,000" gym shoes...

students who preach inaccurate 'facts' about their history to people who don't know it.

prime example my soc class, there is only one Black student (he was mixed with Mexican), the prof asked what "black culture" was in order to prove how much assignment has been given to Blacks/African Americans and how essentialized these assignments are...some kid says 'rap' ...I say 'religious institutions like the A.M.E. church and the Nation of Islam"...this dude..again keep in mind he is the only Black student in class and the class is full of white freshmen from isolated areas of the country...

he goes on to say "but the Nation of Islam came out of rap music so they intertwine" I am like I couldn't tell him anything cause it would've seemed like I was trying to teach him about his own history, I eventually told him it was inaccurate and he took it lightly, the white students responded with 'wow, I did not know that!'..so now they're going around thinking the NOI is a product of rap music *SMH* The Nation of Islam has been around since the 1930's...Rap came about in the 80's brotha!!! KNOW YOUR FACTS!
