I now use the handy buki brush and apply in layers, if I need to.

Sistergreek, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Initially I wasn't liking the foundation, but I really think I was just using too much. Basically, I just put some in the lid, swirl the brush around and tap off the excess and buff it onto my face. I think the key is to buff really well.
Please let us know how it works for you!

Makeup suggestions
I mix it up with Bobbi Brown (concealer is among the best and the foundation), MAC (I like most of their products and wear the liquid foundation daily), Guerlain (the bronzer in No. 3 or 4 great for women of color), Fashion Fair (certain lipsticks), and Chanel (the lip gloss is outstanding).

quick question how do you guys feel about that Dior Mascara....I'm currently using Maybelline (the pinkbottle green top) but I want a mascara that really lengthens my eyelashes almost to the point where they appear as falsies lol.
also i know this isn't make-up related but its still in the cosmetics area...any tips on prepping for a brazilian wax....i'm thinking of trying one

For a lengthining mascara, I will swear by Cover Girl's Lash Exact in the purple bottle endorsed by Queen Latifah! That mascara makes your eyelashes POP and it is very well priced. Sometimes, you can catch them on sale at CVS, Walgreen's, or Wal-Mart for like 2 for $8 bucks!! I would def recommend that!!!

I used the Dior mascara for a while and it is good but after that bottle ran out, I refused to pay another $25. I've found one that is EVEN BETTER!! Revlon 3D. OMG!! It is the best one I've used yet!

I agree Mac is the best. I break out easy but I haven't had any problems with them. I guess the ol' saying is right...you get what you pay for.

Can somebody help me?!? *cries*
Whenever I put on makeup, it seems like a few hours later my makeup is gone. My eyeliner is all smudged and it doesn't look like I put on any foundation. Is there anything I can do about that?

i had the same issue with makeup, eyeshadow really, disappearing and creasing. i had a lot of success using MAC paint pot in Groundwork as a base (applied from lid to brow) and also using Urban Decay Primer Potion.
as far as foundation, i'm still working that out for me, but it helps if my face is freshly very clean and moisturized and i've waited a little while (10-15 min) after moisturizing before i put on foundation. i've also discovered the value of using translucent powder to set the foundation. it sounds like a lot to do, but it does help.

Ooooo, Soror - I've got you covered! You MUST try Model in a Bottle. It will keep you looking purty all day. It will give you a soft matte finish. It's about $25/bottle, but it's worth it.
You can also try the primers that the Sistergreeks were talking about.
Also, 12dn94dst, I know you said that you like the BE (I'm glad!), but if you think you might need to "tweak" the color a little, try putting on a bit of warmth first, then your foundation. I don't own any warmth, but had my co-worker give me some from her collection. I might go purchase some now.

i've been tweaking away. i have deep in addition to warm tan, warmth and mineral veil, so i've tried different combinations of them. mv made me look ashy, so i i mixed a little deep in. it's near perfect.
BE's prime time is good too. it made my skin feel all silky. :-)
