With a sample size in the tens of millions (and hundreds of millions for whites) there's a good chance that a 4% difference is actually statistically significant, too.

I think people agree with deepimpact's point about people's inability to acknowledge racism unless it is blatant. People look for the KKK and Archie Bunker. Many minorities and members of the majority have that problem. That also explains why people are like "Black POTUS...shuttup about racism!" now.

Of course, deepimpact's misapplying that (ETA: she's inaccurately attributing it to particular usernames) but we understand the basic premise.
