[QUOTE=OleMissGlitter;2097368]Sorry for the double post.

Delta Gamma Banner
Can I be an over-critical snob and say the DG banner is not all that impressive? Between the ill-advised AOPi-ish design of the 2011, the un-even/sloppy lettering all the way around, and the vaguely negative connotations of the slogan itself (I know it's an anchor thing but holding something or someone down isn't necessarily an accomplishment), it strikes me as below average (probably more so compared to the outstanding DDD design, which while not 100% original is very well done). I'm sure they're a great group, though - perhaps next year just a bit more effort there? Yikes, now I feel all catty...

So it could potentially be a "grade cut" prior to skit round? Are they doing any snap bids this year??

We don't know for sure since all membership selection is private and secret. No one can tell you for sure.
To quote Titchou:
"Snap bids are only given out on Bid Day by any groups who have not pledged to quota.
After Bid Day, if a group has slots open, it is called COB or COR, continuous open bidding or recruitment. You would need to ask your Greek Life office if any groups are participating in COB/COR and what you need to do to let them know you are available and interested."
Check this out about snapbids:

Haven't heard from my PNM that I sponsored since the first day -- she was very excited -- and I'm sure this week has been crazy. Fingers crossed!

130?
Wow.
Are houses at Ole Miss equipped for such large numbers? I know that a lot of chapters have renovated/added on as classes have gotten larger, but 130 is a whole new level of largeness. lol.

Not really but all have added on in the past few years...this will put all of the chapters over 300 members. Some chapters might even be closer to 350! I saw all of the bid day bags for AOII lined up at the house tonight! So many bags and jerseys!

^^^I bet.
My immediate next though when I heard 130 was "that's going to be one long NM ceremony." lol.
How do you manage rituals like that? Do you have 2 separate ceremonies (ex: one Sat and one Sun?) Or one big long ritual with breaks in between? (if you can answer of course)

Well, I was at our new member ceremony for Alabama with 220 or so NMs this year and it really wasn't all that long. Maybe an hour?

All in one room but several "teams", shall we say, "working" the room.

what they "intend" and what they get are two different things.
The chapters really have little control beyond the "who" they get. Unless their national office allows them to invite back fewer than allowed, their return rates will give them quota. And even if they lower their invitations to try to ensure a smaller pledge class, getting from 115 down to maybe a NM class of 90 is really hard to guage. The basic problem at Ole Miss is the same as at Arkansas - too many PNMs, not enough chapters.

@33 Ole Miss hovers between 13,000 - 15,000 undergraduates usually. We have always had barely have enough students to play in the Division 1A of the NCAA.
@ old ATO - someone once told me that TriDelta is required to house all members from Sophomore year through Senior, so I would imagine a rule like that (if true) would be a cause for down sizing a pledge class if house total was too high (or would be too high next year) for some reason.
