I'm still in shock that I watched all that shit take place.

First...Dede and Jordan ditch funerals to go to formal?

Second...Jordan and Mara ditch and go to a better hotel? Spoiled, snotty little brats.

Third...ALL of the pledges get up and leave during speeches?

Fourth...A combo of Jordan and Mara at the strip bar, and Amanda and Candace trying to go to another club.

I just feel really bad for them. And even worse for the women of Sigma.

That formal looked BEAUTIFUL and it looked like it would have been a lot of fun.

It WAS beautiful. Most gorgeous formal I have ever been to, and the TV cameras did no justice to just how awesome it looked. It looked great on TV, but I cant put into words just how magical (?) that room felt. I've been to really nice black-tie weddings, dinners with dignitaries, special restaurants, and this dance, this setting, trumped them all. Props to Jessie and her crew for working their butts off to pull this thing off.

Zuma, right on girl. The formal looked was beautiful and I'm glad you had a great time.

I've actually been to that hotel [never to that ballroom, though] and I thought my formals were beautiful. The room looked so elegant, but the best part was seeing the Sigma sisters dancing to "We are Family". I flashbacked to dancing to that same song with my own sisters.

As a former Social Chair, I know how hard it is putting something like that together. Your biggest concern is making sure that everyone has a great time after all the effort you put in to it. That's why I feel Jesse's pain after seeing those people dig out that way. It is a slap in the face and I hope they were dealt with accordingly [as we'll probably see in the next episode].

As a collegian I would have loved to have attended a formal like that.

Those girls have to be the most un-deserving of the Sigma letters after what I witnessed tonight.

Teeny. I just realized. If that girl is a Sigma, we just kinda insulted some of her new sisters. I know at least SOME of them went active.

Oh lord. I don't know what I'd do if my sorority was on TV like that.

You are entitled to you opinion Shine but there is one thing I have learned on GC that whenever someone does something in a fun manner, there is ALWAYS someone to rain on the parade. Back to the show, For the first time, Leslie(who has been on the pledges side since day one) was really mad at them for leaving. I don't blame any of them. I'm shocked none of them told them right then and there how rude that is. I really think that Jordan and Mara are going to leave.

Can I just say how much I hated Jordan's dress but I loved Mara's? And Jessica looked pretty with her hair up.

Well, while everyone is throwing in their 2 cents, i wanna add mine.

That guy who was tellin the sister that he wanted to 'get the f*** out' cuz he felt like a 'claustraphobic monkey' or whatever was being a complete asshole.

Man, if i ever had a date say that to me at formal, i'd be like, fine, you know where your house is, start walking. (haha, considering our formal last year was in Laredo, that'd be a LONG ass walk) I mean, yes, i've been to sorority formals before, and sometimes there are times that are less fun than the rest, but that guy needs to be thankful he was even invited and have enough courtesy not to ruin that girl's special night.

I mean, i don't know that guy, but he's probably not even Greek, and now he's gonna go back to all his GDI buddies talking smack about how he went to some dopey formal and his date was a b**** blah blah blah. (BTW, i thought the formal looked really well put together)

(sorry i'm late on this, i have to work during the show and tape it and watch it when i get home) <-------how sad is THAT??

Sorry to nitpick and use blue language, but it just irritates me to see people disrespect other people like that.

Sorority Life Opinions 1million1:
1. The formal looked beautiful! The ballroom was drop dead gorgeous and jessie did a beyond wonderful job putting it together.
2. The sisters had class and grace and did not react like i think some of my sisters would have had our new girls gotten up during a speech or left formal in general. They kept their cool and that is to be commended. And their dresses were beautiful!
3. Mara and Jordan should have their butts kicked to the curb. Drop them, neg them, 2nd vote them...whatever your org calls it...let them go now before they bring the ENTIRE org down!
4. Granted the Candace/Amanda thing was obnoxious with the sunglasses, but you always have (or at least i always did ) have "that girl" who got drunk and showed up in birkenstocks or flip flops with her formal dress or sunglasses.
5. From 1 important lesson learned from my experience, alchohol+beingdressed up+new members= disaster. Too many things can and will go wrong. Plus, you should never ever serve alcohol during a speech or something like tranition, the bar should have been closed!
6.Lastly, the hotel was really not that bad. I mean, i have stayed in worse fraternity houses and worse hotels for spring break. and they were only going to spend 1 night there, and they didn't even have to pay for it!I'm sorry if its not their ikea furnished mtv pledge house! But jeez, stop being such spoiled brats.

I'd just like to say that, while it was horridly rude for everyone to get up and leave during the presentations, and even worse to try to go to another club, I think it was to Candace & Amanda's credit that they returned to formal and seemed to be having a good time. I saw them dancing with their dates and sisters. I think I saw Amanda dancing with her big (Pauli) and I also saw a shot of Dede dancing with her big... cute! I hope they realized that it wasn't so bad after all.

PS: This is why we have dry formals.

The whole thing REALLY pissed me off - I have never seen such disrespect, I can't imagine ever acting like that as a pledge. These girls have no conept of sisterhood, unity, any of it.

Pledging isn't a joke and you don't get to pick or choose what you do or don't want to do, you do what you're told and you show respect to those who came before you.

The best thing the sisters could do would be to drop all of them except for Dede, at least of the pledges that show up on camera. And although I used to be a fan of Jessica, I no longer feel that way, I don't think she acts particularly sisterly either.

There's absoluetely no excuse for that disgusting display, and edited or not, noone forced these girls to be so rude and obnoxious, and knowing this was all going to end up on camera and on national television makes them even worse in my eyes.

Maybe I missed it, but did the pledges say why they chose to get up in the middle of the ceremony? Besides being rude, of course, which seems to be their reason for doing anything!

Side note: Zuma, the formal itself looked absolutely amazing and I hope you all enjoyed yourselves despite certain idiot behavior.

We did A Phi O officer installations at our formal, but in both my orgs, our "senior ceremony" was a separate event. Probably because 1) not everyone went to the formal and 2) we all bawl and we didn't want to bawl all over our nice dresses.

that being said....I ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY CAN NOT FATHOM EVER WALKING OUT ON ANY PART OF SENIOR CEREMONY!!!!

Anyone who did, they would have been gone. Period.

Oh, and Mara and Jordan bitching about the hotel - good grief, princess much? I'm an alumna, for cryin out loud, and I stay at the Super 8 every year for homecoming. That hotel wasn't the Westin, but I failed to see anything THAT bad.

Side note: is Jordan's grandma who died on the Jewish side of her family? Reason I ask is, I thought that Jewish tradition dictated immediate burial (i.e. you die on the 3rd, you are buried on the 4th). Of course the editing is so messed up her grandma could have died last year and they are just now putting it in.

My take on the show: First off, their formal was absolutely gorgeous. It looked like a dream formal.

You know, I found the entire show amusing. There were so many things that went on in the show that I couldn't help but laugh. I guess I am seeing this show as entertainment, rather than actual "sorority life."

* Leaving formal to go a strip club, um, wrong!

* Leaving formal to go to a bar with cheaper drinks, um, not as wrong, but still wrong. Had going to the other bar for a quick drink been the norm, then okay, but it wasn't. I do give them props for going back to formal; however, they did only go back b/c two were missing ID's

* Going to a better hotel, if you have the money and don't want to stay where your "sisters" are staying at, do what you want to do. It just shows what is more important to you (which is only obvious to us w/o having to switch hotels)

* "The whole table" taking off in the middle of the ceremony? One question, WHY?? They did go to San Francisco for formal, right?? I think everyone just wanted to get up and check out SF's night life. I think they said formal didn't end 'til 2am. Our formals usually end no later than midnight, which leaves plenty of room to do other things AS A GROUP.

* The sunglasses: Perhaps they could have taken off their sunglasses during the presentation, but I thought that was cute.

All in all, it was just soo funny to me because I know that drama does go on in my sorority; we just don't see it and find out about a lot of it on television.

I was with Mara and Jordan...that hotel room they had was gross. Did you see that shit on the wall? I don't think it's a big deal to change hotels if they had the cash! I think them getting up and walking out in the middle of the ceremony totally sucked. That guy who was bitching he wanted to leave was a total asshole.

As for other people leaving and going other places, I'd have to say that the formal was SOOOOO long. Who has a formal until 2 am!! You go, eat dinner, dance, drink and such till 11 or 12 and then go do your thing. And $8 for a drink is absolutely ridiculous.

I do, they were pledges and they don't get to make those decisions. The very least they could have done was ask if it was okay before just up and leaving.

They deserve to get booted, from the photo galleries on the Sigma website I assume that's what happened. They don't have the first clue about sisterhood and they would do nothing but bring that that sorority down in the future.

Not for San Francisco it's not, any major urban area is that expensive. It's like that in New York and Los Angeles too.

In Philadelphia, a major urban area, a vodka and cranberry does not cost $8, unless you're at the airport or something. And that includes upscale swank places.

Since when can't new members make their own decisions? Just because you're a new member doesn't mean that you lose your right to think for yourself...but that's a whole nother thread stacy.
