don't forget the stalking pattern! This was just posted by m_g last night:

Are you counting down the days until the 10th anniversary?
in response to PeppyGPhiB. That gives me the creeps and sounds a little too familiar to what love bean posted to me in the thread two nights ago.

tante grazie!

and yes, the 10th anniversary of my second root canal is approaching - how sweet of her to notice and remember. Wow. I'm so happy.

(gah! a Gambel's Quail just flew into my kitchen through the open door!)

Ha! Love when wild animals get indoors! I guess it's better than the mice that frequent my house

It would not be such a big deal, except that quail live in families and the adult male freaked out and started making his God-awful quail screech, then the rest of the troop got all riled and starting screaming and squawking. It was quite a cacaphony.

Got the young quail out, safely. It happens this time of year; the babies are growing up but haven't quite figured everything out.

You have a lot to look forward to Mice generally get eaten by the rattlesnakes, or owls, or hawks, or other snakes. Not such a problem here. Packrats, on the other hand... ugh.

I have never seen a quail nor had one invade my kitchen... at least you can eat quail? (not that you did obviously)

I'm picturing a Disney style line of quail running into your house...

Wow...that was really lame! Sorry, love bean, but on message boards, when you have a conversation with someone but don't put it in a PM, it's public domain. Secondly, I don't believe you.

Oh...and BTW, her name is PePPy and a conversation takes TWO! That was stalking!

You were trying to talk to me? Or was your head so far up your digestive track that you were talking to your last meal?

If only it had been that prosaic. There was a lot of flapping around inside, big dogs underfoot trying to help me catch it, family outside freaking out, flying at the windows (which have those audubon decals on them b/c I got sick of kamikaze suicides and constantly cleaning my windows) and screeching and much celebration when the errant family member was returned to the ranks.

If it were at my house, the screaming would have been from me!
