Anyways, I'm sure you know this. It's just a little thing that we Canadians get annoyed at all the time. We are not another US state!!
Thanks, yogiPhi, I definitely know that Canada isn't another state as many of my closest friends are Canadian I just didn't want to leave Canada out since 6 is actually quite an impressive number of chapters in relation to all NPC groups in Canada! I corrected the placement in the post above because I still think Canada should be mentioned.

In the updated 'Alpha Phi Milestones' (below) that "fact" is not included (I don't think it was ever really on an official publication of Alpha Phi, am not sure where it came from, but it is on many A*Phi chapter sites.... most likely one website listed it as a Phi Fact, and it started getting copied to other sites much like celebrities that aren't really members of a greek org are listed as members on chapter sites but not on the HQ's site.)

Alpha Phi has an outstanding record of accomplishments

Alpha Phi became the first women's Fraternity in America to build and occupy its own chapter house. This tradition continues today as Alpha Phi owns and managers 80 sorority houses.

Alpha Phi was the first National sorority established in the Northeast.

The Alpha Phi Quarterly was established in 1886. It has been published continuously to the present day and has received numerous awards and recognition.

Alpha Phi has the oldest chapter in Canada. Xi Chapter was founded at the University of Toronto in 1906. Alpha Phi owns the oldest sorority house in Canada.

In 1902, Alpha Phi called the inter-sorority meeting that resulted in the formation of the association now known as the National Panhellenic Conference. Today the Panhellenic Conference is made up of 26 member organizations.

Alpha Phi was the first National Sorority to have a web site. Today you can visit Alpha Phi’s website at www.alphaphi.org.

The Alpha Phi Foundation was founded in 1956. Alpha Phi was the first sorority to create her own foundation. 2006 marks the 50th anniversary.

In 2004 Alpha Phi launched our own red dress campaign to support cardiac care for women. Alpha Phi has supported Cardiac Care since 1946.

In 2003 “Reel Connections” a multi-media educational tool was introduced to chapter leaders.

Alpha Phi supports alumnae initiation for selected outstanding women. This tradition began when Alpha Phi’s earliest members invited Frances Willard, a noted leader in women’s suffrage and education for women to be the first alumnae initiate in 1875.

Alpha Phi was the first women's fraternity to use traveling delegates, known today as Educational Leadership Consultants.
