I went through UGA's rush fall of 98 and after 3rd round dropped out because I wasn't 100% sure if I wanted to be in a sorority. I did get invited to the one sorority I got a rec for ( i didn't really know how important recs were before i rushed) I rushed the only one sorority I was interested in in Spring ( AGD) and joined. On the other side of it I was there during the time when AGD was under fire for cutting a girl who was Africna American. It had nothing to do with the color of her skin, but I won't go into everything else in this post.

At UGA it seems to be about what you did in highschool and what you wear to the rounds. Like they say you can wear shorts but I know if you walked in with shorts on unless you were drop dead gorgeous you would most likely be cut. I know one girl in my group who's mom drove up to take her to the mall to get another dress. I had no idea at the time that what you wear had so much to do with it but first impressions are crucial. I knew a girl from my highschool that got cut from 17 of 18 sororities ( she wasn't popular in highschool either). I had one friend be cut because she naturally doesn't wear any makeup and they had a problem with that. Rush gets harder and harder at UGA every year.
