When we were planning our 70th chapter anniversary, I got a chance to know our founder. What a POWERHOUSE!!!!! She started the local in 1917 that became Alpha Iota in 1920, and went on to National Office - Louise Heatherington. I can remember telling a former boss of mine that I knew her, and he dropped his coffee! "You know Miss Heatherington?!?!?!" I could see that his esteem for me was sky rocketing by the second!
I got to be her geriatric counselor before she passed away - feisty until the end!
