Fraternity, sorority ride for charity
Officials blame bad weather for low turnout at hog roast
Rebecca Pullen | Staff Reporter
April 04, 2005

Saturday's Roast 'n' Ride event was not as successful as Phi Sigma Kappa and Alpha Omicron Pi had hoped because of the dreary weather, Aaron Eskridge, co-chairman, said.

The event consisted of a trike race in the morning and an all-you-can-eat hog roast for $8 a plate in the afternoon.

The winning team of the race, Chi Omega won a trophy for their participation.

However, the event isn't just about bringing the two organizations together, it's about helping the community. As part of their philanthropy week, the money raised will go to charities of the two greek organizations, the Indiana Special Olympics and Arthritis Research.

Some of the events sponsors that were at the event were a local radio station, Radio Now, Crystal Catering and the University Police Department.
