I ended up leaving engineering and that school, but my sorority sisters who were engineers graduated with around a 2.8 most of the time - which generally put them in the top quarter of their engineering class. Do you have an advisor in the program? Maybe you could go talk to them about what the average GPA for the college of engineering is.

Thanks for the advice. Our chapter of SWE is getting more organized by the minute right now, so I am starting to get more involved. I just wish they had been doing more when I was a freshman. But that's nothing that I can change now. I do have an advisor, and I am fortunate that she is one of the few female faculty members in our department. So she definitely knows what I'm going through. I think I'm going to have to put in a few more hours talking to her and the members of the SWE chapter. Also, the national NSBE conference falls during my spring break this year, so I will be attending that. Maybe I'll post back in the future to let you guys know how everything is going. And thanks again for all the advice.

Well, I don't have a sorority to make proud, but last semester I got no Cs for the first time since 4th grade! 4 As and 3 Bs, yeah for me!

91* on my Managerial/Cost Accounting Systems test tonight! Much better than I did in my Principles of Managerial Accounting class.
*Including the 7 bonus points my group in the class won today in "ACCT 3210 Jeopardy." But even an 84 ain't bad.

I got a distinction (19/20 - unheard of!!) on my "Images of the Ship in Alaska Native and non-Native Art Pre and Post Contact" paper and catalogue, and ended up with an overall distinction in that seminar (Images of the Ship). I also just finished my MLitt and have at least one paper to publish, if not more.

3.700 for Summer semester 2005!
B- Intermediate Financial Accounting I
A- Elementary Spanish II
A- Managerial Design and Use of Cost Accounting Info
Easy classes, I know. But I took the first two in one 5-week term and the third in another 5-week term. And the 2nd minimester got thrown off a wee bit by Dennis.

I survived the first summer of my Masters-in-Teaching program in lovely Spokane, Washington, and earned A's in all of my classes so far. One grade isn't posted yet, and it is driving me craaaaazzzy!

I have always been afraid of the thought of grad school and I don't know why. Recently I took some courses in Special Education at George Washington University (ranked in the top 25). I ACED them!! This has motivated me to formally apply seeing that I have no problem handling graduate level work at a top institution.
