Does anybody know what Soarin' and the Lilo and Stitch ride are like?
Your welcome for the link. I read it weekly because it has great updates on it.

As for Soarin', if it's like the DCA version it's great. The builiding is kind of a dome shape inside - a lot like a planetarium. It's a simulated hanggliding ride that stimulates you through visual, feeling (cold, etc), and smell. There are three 'gliders' with about 3 or 4 rows of seats each. You walk in and sit in one of the seats then are strapped in. If you are wearing flipflops they ask that you take them off and leave them on the floor.

Once everyone is secure the ride starts and you are raised up about 30-40 feet in the air. (not a ride for those afraid of heights). Meanwhile on the walls/screen you are watching various scenes of California. You get the sense that you are really hanggliding along. When you fly over the river/coastal redwood area you feel cool air and kind of have a fresh foresty smell and will even hear a fisherman asking if "you caught anything". There's an area where you fly over orange groves you get a whiff of oranges. Keep an eye on the Yosemite scenes, on the side of Half Dome you'll see some mountain climbers.

It's a great ride. I can't remember if it will be open at DW by the time i'm there at the end of May. I hope so, then I can compare it and see how it is.

Carolyn
