why was it my MOTHER who put me onto this song? She pulls up next to me on the street outside my job, hanging over the passenger seat going " hey gurl, wait till i show you something" that was it... now we HAVE to work that hook into conversation at LEAST once a day... she's worse than I am...

LOL. It's ok to like the song you guys. there is no need to feel guilty. There are a few Lil Jon songs whose beats I cannot get enough of. These rappers have the freedom to express themselves this way and say pretty much whatever it is they want. Consumers and listeners have the freedom to do what they want as well which is to turn the station or don't buy the music.
One of the original members of Wu Tang was on Sixty Minutes ( I believe that was the show) the other night. The special was on violence and the vulgarities in Hip Hop music and he made SO much sense. I wanted that show to air over and over again. He was saying that there needs to be a balance. Artists that have different messages need to work harder to get out there. There is a lot of money and a lot of interest in diluting the vulgar gangster and sex-ed up rap music and if the other artists would find ways to tap into those resources, those of us who do appreciate variety will buy it. I do believe the outcry is coming. Someone earlier said that they can't believe that there hasn't been an outcry over the state of Hip Hop. Its coming. Sharpton is putting his efforts behind the FCC and having them do something about allowing the vulgarities of some of this music to hit the airwaves all the time and then causing the rucus over Janet Jackson's breast. Other people are beginning to make some noise as well. So hopefully things will make a turn for the better soon.

Be glad that you're not listening to Akinyele...
This is something I'd only listen to in the club, anyway. If it bothers you that much, change the channel or don't buy the CD.
Problem solved!

If you're not mature enough to handle the song. Turn it off. Stop crying about it.
Go turn on some Norah Jones or some _____ like that.
