The reason I even dug up this old thread is the tired old story about the racist times of the 1930's, when Marian Anderson's
first time to sing at the DAR's Memorial Hall was denied.
Last month, a stamp honoring Marian Anderson was issued, and the ceremony was held... at the DAR hall!

Walter Fauntroy, soprano Kathleen Battle, Anderson biographer Allan Keiler, Anderson's nephew James DePreist, Deputy Postmaster General John Nolan, DAR President General Presley Wagoner, local ABC News reporter Angela Russell, mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves, soprano Mattiwilda Dobbs."
If you watch the entire slideshow, you'll also see that several members of her family were there, too.
