While some may consider it "rude" to knock on someone's door at 10:30 pm, you can't sue someone for being rude. If so, man, would I be the plaintiff in a lot of lawsuits!
I think the neighbor is incredibly bitchy, especially after turning down the family's offer to pay her expenses. She's probably the neighborhood witch, who needed some cheer in her life....
