My hair is naturally dark brown, and while my mom thinks it's very pretty, the color is just too boring for me. So I was finally able to start highlighting my hair the summer before my junior year of college!
I started out with some blonde highlights, just a few though b/c I didn't know how good it would look. I actually thought having a lot of blonde in my hair would be bad, but I have been highlighting it now for over a year and I get SO many compliments. I personally think it brightens up my whole face, but who knows. I hate having to touch it up b/c oif roots, but I have to b/c my roots look so dark now compared to the rest of my lighter hair. Luckily I am super anal about it so my roots don't ever get to the point where they're really noticeable to anyone but me.
