Excuse me cause I'm agnostic and don't know much about the bible... but if you believe the bible and you believe that man was made in the image and likeness of god then why do you need modesty?? Isn't the human body beautiful specifically because god made it in his image? So why should people feel that they have to cover it up? And why should women in particular be forced to cover up??

Also, why does the word "submit" always get interpreted to mean submissiveness?? From an outsider's point of view it seems that that term could be up for a lot of interpretation.

Personally, I think a lot of this is simply people's own interpretation of body image and sex roles, as well as a reflection of our society's continuing sexism.
As I look at the Bob Jones administrators, I see that most of them are men, and the few women mostly handle the female student population. I really wonder how much of this has to do with god and how much of it has to do with men attempting to continue the privileges and freedoms they have enjoyed while attempting to limit and control the lives of the female students.
