ok, most of these brushes with fame don't even involve me directly, but i thought i'd tell them anyway. One of my best HS buddies almost got burnt by John Mellencamp's cigarette. His wife went shopping with my other HS best friends mom one day. Both had their kids. Actually they just met at some store in the mall and started talking about their kids, and then hung out for a while.

Richard Chamberlain's (actor, was in the thornbirds and centennial to name a couple of movies) grandmother lived up the hill from me, but that was way before i was around. my great grandma lived here though.

One summer, John Belushi, before he was famous, did summer theatre in the small theatre in my town of 2500.

One of my bros dated Sting's niece. She lives/ed in bloomington, IN.

Back in the day, when the super bowl shuffle was hip, my dad was at the mall, and some lady asked for his autograph. she thought he was jim mcmahon (sp?) when she read his name on the paper, she asked why he wrote that, and he said, "you wanted my autograph right?" she wasn't too happy
