Life....

You're right about the Dallas organization....they are/were fantastic.

When I was a senior (WAAAAYYYyyyyyy back when) I was invited to the LXA "One stop job shop" in Dallas - it was a networking and "how to" for finding a job using your network of friends/brothers/relatives, etc....it was GREAT! Ironically, this workshop occurred the same day as the first World Trade Center bombing.

I got four job leads, two interviews (in DENVER...) and one job offer, but it wasn't the industry I wanted, but, all the job leads and interviews were with LX's, which was great - I still keep in touch with one of them from time to time.

I met brother Hinckley, Stan (? crap! OU alumni - great guy!), many High Pi/etc....

They really do a great job staying organized - I wish I had done a better job staying in touch with them - they were all very optimistic about LXA returning to my alma mater, even though it didn't happen for many more years. As I remember, at that time, the Dallas group did alumni type functions and oversight for SMU, TCU, North Texas, and one or two other chapters as well - it was a great idea.

Several alumni in Colorado, myself included, have made efforts in the past to start up a similar organization, but it is so difficult to get off the ground and running, especially if you are wanting alumni from any and all chapters in the area to participate - it doesn't seem to work as well as it should to start up. Once it is up and running, I would think it would self-perpetuate, but we never got to that point. If we could, we wanted an organization to oversee CSU, CU, UNC, Wyoming, DU, USC (now known as CSU-Pueblo), and the CSM colony. I'd still like to see it happen - it would need to be based in Denver to be optimal to work.
