I remember pinwheel too!
"Pinwheel, pinwheel, spinning around. Look at my pinwheel and see what I found..."
Can you hear the song...? Great show!
I also liked Reading Rainbow! I know its dorky, but I always wanted to be one of those kids who got to tell about the book they read!
Let's see...
GI Joe the cartoon
Voltron
ALF
The Facts of Life
Fraggles
Does anyone know the name of the show with the girl who was part alien (I think her dad was alien, but had to go back to his home plante) and she could stop time by putting her two pointer fingers together..? I'm not crazy, it really was a show....
Silverspoons
The list could go on forever

Darkwing Duck
Tiny Toons
Animaniacs
They were all like on the same channel every weekday afternoon!

Anyone remember the show "Bananas in Pajamas"? That didn't come out until I was a pre-teen so I didn't watch it much, but I remember the theme-song, "Bananas in pajamas are marching down the stairs, bananas in pajamas, are marching down in pairs, bananas in pajamas, they'll catch you unawares." I always thought that last line said "They'll catch you in your underwear!" LOL!
Anyone remember the show about the three Quala bears? The two boys and the girl I think? The girl, Pinky, had a magic mirror compact.

Hey guys, for all those shows we used to (and still) love, go to www.yesterdayland.com. It's a great place to settle bets on whether or not a certain character played a certain part, when a sitcom went off of the air, etc..

This is a great topic. Here are my favorites:
He-Man
She-Ra
Tailspin
Ducktales
Gumby Bears
Today's Special
You Can't Do That On Television
Fifteen (Nickelodeon's teen soap opera)
Welcome Freshman
Designing Women
Golden Girls
Facts of Life
Saved By the Bell (I watched the College Years too)
Punky Brewster
Clarissa Explains It All
Small Wonder (the show with the robot girl)
That's all I can think of for now.
dc1--I think the show you're talking about is Out of This World, but I'm not sure. I can picture the half-alien girl perfectly (her name was Evie I think)

No one has said " Mr. Belvedere" yet. The man who played mr. B died today. He was 80- I believe it was from natural causes.
i also watched Wonder years and Ghostwriter- forgot to mention those earlier.
Does anyone remember the show with the girl from step by step who was raised by 2 men?
I also would watch cheers and Home improvement.

Mr. Wizard's World and You Can't Do that on Television were also some of my other favorites... Bananaman had to be one of my most favorite Nickelodeon cartoons! I miss the old jingle: "Nick-nick-nick-nick-na-nick-nick-nick...NICKELODEON!"
Now that MTV's turned 20, I hope that Nickelodeon will also do a similar nostalgia event.

Nick *did* do a 20th anniversary event in the summer of 1999. Nickelodeon premiered on April 01, 1979.
Unfortunately, the anniversary "celebration" was a load of shit. It was all about the Rugrats (a show that didn't gain popularity until it had been out of production for years - it was just rerun so much that it gained a fan base after 5 or 6 years and was put back into production) and All That (one of the worst abominations and wastes of video ever).
Anyway...the nostalgia weekend was held over the last weekend in June '99. It featured very very few shows from Nick's early days. There was no Pinwheel, no Today's Special, nothing from Nick's lean years. There were maybe 3 episodes of YCDTOTV (all featuring Alanis Morisette) and 1 of Double Dare.
It was very insulting and disappointing to those of us born before 1990. In '99 Nick also had an exhibit at the Museum of TV and Radio in NYC, celebrating its 20th anniversary.
Maybe if all of us 80s kids start a letter writing campaign to Nickelodeon, we can get a PROPER 25th anniversary

I LOVED Darkwing Duck, Gummy Bears, Goof Troop, Rescue Rangers, and all those other cartoons. Does anybody remember "Plastic Man?" It came on when I was really young and I used to love it. oh..and I think my all time fave would have to be INSPECTOR GADGET!!! Let's not forget him! I always thought Penny and her "computer book" were so cool!
About Ghostwriter...I remember in 6th grade I got to do a telephone interview with the girl that played Tina for a newspaper article! She was always my favorite character, and I was starstruck for days!
OTW, I remember the nickelodeon jingle too! I haven't watched it in so long...wonder what they're playing now!

It was Out of This World (I'm impressed)!
It ran from 1987-1991. Oh, and the girls name was Evie Garland!

The reason that YCDTOTV will never return in syndication is its just too expensive to pay residuals to all the actors that appeared on that show over the course of its run.
Also, the guy on Welcome Freshman's name was Merv Alistar was on YCDTOTV.
Pete and Pete was an AWESOME show - really quirky and cool - wish I had more eps of it on tape

Yeah I really miss all those old, old Nickelodeon shows, as well as the old jingle. Remember The Adventures of Pete & Pete? LOL. Nickelodeon today is shameful. They really need to bring back YCDTOT (I loved it when BARF makes them food, and when they'd peek out of the lockers to talk LOL), Welcome Freshman (I only remember that one dude's name, Alister, and how he used to pretend to be a news reporter.) Ahhh...memories.

The show is called Flash Forward. It came on ABC first before Disney got it. The boy(Tucker James) and girl(Becca Fisher) lived next door to each other and were born on the same day. The boy who played Tucker(Ben Foster) was just in that movie with Sisqo.
Tucker's best friend was Myles Vaugh(sp) and Becca's best friend was Christine
