Both Ruby Dee (Delta Sigma Theta) and her husband Ossie Davis, Jr (Omega Psi Phi) were honored for their lifetime achievements.

I did a quick search to see if any of the others had a GLO affiliation.

John Williams attended UCLA and is a member of Kappa Kappa Psi, Honorary Fraternity for College Bandsmen.

Nothing came up for British born Elton John nor Australian born Joan Sutherland regarding being a member of a GLO or attending college in the United States.

Jumping in to say: Joan Sutherland is a National Honorary Member of Sigma Alpha Iota. She was initiated in 1961 by the Iota Nu Chapter.
