Interesting guy. I had dinner with he and his wife and introduced him at an alumni dinner during Homecoming this year.
He ran track for Dayton Chamanade, was recruited by Ohio State, but didn't want to go a school that big, and the O.S.U. track coach suggested Ohio.
One of his fraternity brothers when he was an Ohio University undergraduate was Cleve Bryant, who was O.U. quarterback in the mid to late 60's. Bryant played a couple of non-eventful years in the NFL and then became an NFL coach. In 1967, under Bryant's leadership, Ohio was 10-0 and went to the Tangerine Bowl. (Lost to the University of Richmond)
In any event, he knows that O.U. was a competitor back then and hopefully can be again.
