Hello =)
Hi!
I am new to this so i will just say a little about me...I am a member of the Delta Omicron Chapter at EKU. I think that these forums are great ways to get input from other KD's!
So here is my question, with spring rush preparations on the way there is a lot of controversy about our new theme. We decided to have camo rush shirts that on the front say "Kappa Delta" and on the back saying "Recruiting the best since 1897" I personally feel like this is a great idea but some feel it wont atract the girls we are looking for. Any alternate ideas?
Any input would be great
AOT

Welcome to GC! Anyway, when I first read the idea I thought it was totally cute until I saw the reason why some girls don't like it. You have 2 questions to ask yourself here:
1- Do you want the kind of girls who are going to care about the theme being like that? There's no wrong answer here. I don't know what your chapter is like, and clearly girls in your sorority already don't love it. Or do they just not like it because they're worried about what others will think? Either way, there's no way to make everyone happy at all times.
2- Going along with the last question, what kind of girls are you trying to recruit? If you wan fun, carefree girls who know that a shirt with a catchy saying may not be the biggest and best fashion statement ever, but that it's totally fun, then go for it. If you want a more polished, clean-cut image perhaps reconsider.
Whatever you choose, the idea IS cute. Spring recruitment (if it's informal like my school's) is where you can really let your chapter's personality shine and do what suits you all best. I mean why try and recruit girls that wouldn't mesh well with you? Just stay true to what you all like and go with it. Because regardless of what you have on, your personalities are what's going to sell the girls on KD anyway.
Sorry that was so long-winded. Good luck though!!

Welcome to GC, Alex! Here are some slogans I found on Greek101.com. They have an archive of screen printed t-shirt ideas.
- The Few. The Proud. The KDs.
- Enlist in the Best. Sisterhood of One.
- Be All You Can Be - Go KD, or maybe KD - Be all you can be, or Be all you can be in Kappa Delta Sorority
- A Few Good Women - KD Got them All
- If you didn't get drafted, you got shafted (that's kind of snotty though)
To any of these you could add the "Recruiting the Best since 1897," that's a cute idea.
There were a bunch on there that were printed on camo shirts. I think it's a good idea too! I don't remember choosing KD based on the outfits sisters wore, I'm sure the PNMs will see you for the beautiful people you are. I hope they base their decision on sisterhood more than style!

Sorry to crash, but I'm a Theta alumnae from the Theta chapter at EKU.
KD's were great dorm neighbors to us. You have an excellent chapter there!!!!
