MOST SCENIC
1. Army, Michie Stadium
There is nothing like being at Michie Stadium on the banks of the Hudson River with the leaves changing during the third weekend in October. The scenery is incredible. And how about the inspiration drawn from being at such an historic landmark? You see the statues of MacArthur, Patton and Eisenhower. Then on game-day morning, you have the pleasure of witnessing the Cadet Parade. And how about when the cadets sing, "On brave old Army team"? That's an unbelievable moment.
7. Air Force, Falcon Stadium
The stadium is set into the side of the Rampart Range of the Rocky Mountains. Sight lines are incredible, as is gameday when you witness the flyovers, the cadet march-on, the performing Falcon mascot, the parachuters, and Falcon Fan Fest.
Just gotta agree with these two -- especially Michie Stadium at West Point in terms of scenery. Falcon stadium is newer and there isn't a bad seat anywhere -- great for televising.
The left out Navy-Marine Corps. Memorial Stadium at Annapolis. While old, you can look beyond the East stands and see the tops of sails on boats on the river. Same as at Army and AFA, the pre game and halftime festivities are inspiring with the Brigade march on. Looking at the names of Naval/Marine battles painted on the area between stadium decks is a humbling memorial.
Certainly three of the most beautiful places in American to watch a game on a Fall afternoon.
I've been to several of the other stadiums -- and the fact is that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." What I mean is that they all have their good and bad points, but if you went to school "there" the memories alone can make a stadium much more than steel or concrete or stone.
