Although I don't agree with her politics, in the grand scheme of things, I think that it is a move forward for women and African-American women that she will be Secretary of State. She is very qualified given her background in foreign relations. Plus, you know that babyBush had to keep the secrets about all that 9/11 dirt, etc. w/in the clique of folk who already knew them. He can't afford to bring in too many other folk who are going to be very close to *that* kind of past info. And Ms. Rice has proven herself to be VERY loyal....
The only thing that I hope is that she starts getting facials b/c sister-girl always looks HORRIBLE in her pictures. It never fails. She needs some facials and some vacations, for real. Them folk working her to death. LOL

Colin Powell for President
I really think that it's time for CP to man-up. Colin has always been on some "I want to spend time with my family," "Alma wants me at home," "I want to live a private life" stuff since he was the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Granted, everyone deserves a bit of peace and serenity in their life, but as we members of the Phirst Pham know, to whom much is given much is REQUIRED!
God gave us all our talents, so we need to use them for the good of his people. We all know how stressful it can be when your boss is an idiot and you care deeply about your work, right? It just so happens that his boss runs the free world. I think it's time for Colin to take the big office and quit crying about wanting to retire in peace!
Don't you think Revs. Jesse and Al need a break?

LOL @ the facials comment. Condi's politics really do unnerve me, but if I'm able to separate the woman from the politics, she is very accomplished and polished. She will present a good image.

I am very offended by that. How dare he call her an "Aunt Jemima," stating that she only has a subservient role. What Secretary of State *doesn't* have a subservient role. Her job is to represent the U.S. in the way that her boss wants her to (as with any Secretary of State) and while I don't agree with her politics, I think that she has done a good job of repping the U.S. in the way that I think that BabyBush wants her to.
I am just floored by the comment that she isn't qualified. If she isn't qualified then who is? Does he know her background and record in foreign affairs? That's just ignorant to make such a comment. I almost want to believe that it is founded in the fact that she is a woman.
