Oh, also, it was just discovered that smoking causes skin cancer, too . Studies were done that showed those that smoked had like 40 percent more risk of developing a certain type of skin cancer than non-smokers.

So, also, another reason could be - do I really want to be all wrinkly AND have skin cancer??

I smoked in high school, but not much, didn't want the fam to find out. Then I quit, wasn't hard since I didn't smoke more than a pack a week. When I started college, I started smoking casually again. I still have a smoke every once in a while when I'm drinking and/or camping, don't know why, but it's something to do i guess. I also like the occasional cigar or clove cigarrette. I smoke maybe every other weekend max, and then only a couple of smokes in an entire weekend.

when money and classes stress me out, i have been known to light up a cigar (my preferred brand: black & mild). it really calms me. but, i don't smoke very often. you'll probably catch me around finals outside with a black in my mouth or when it's about time to pay tuition.

Smoking killed my grandmother- she died from pnuemonia... but she wouldnt have if she didnt have emphysema from smoking. Also her husband, who died from a heart problem, due to smoking. My other grandfather died of lung and throat cancer... we watched him die... and it was sort of sudden... he got that from smoking. And now my dad has emphysema... and it worries me. I have asthma and smoke makes it hard for me to breathe, yet my parents wont quit. I hate the smell of it too...

These are my reasons for not smoking.

well, i smoke. hense AGDsexysmoker.... i guess i have been smoking for about a year and a half to two years... about a pack a day, menthol none-the-less... i know, i know.. death will come to me early if i don't quit. but really, i don't see myself smoking after college. i have associated smoking and drinking so much that i would have to quit both.. and i doubt that will happen. on a weekend night, i go through a pack of cigarettes in about 3 hours. it also doesn't help that everyone i know smokes. over half my sorority does, my mom and step-dad do, all my friends at home do... everyone i work w/... LITERALLY. it might be different if no one around me smoked, but they all do. and it's so nice to say, "wanna go smoke a cigarette?"
