This was when the proceedings of a chapter meeting were disclosed to anyone who wasn't a brother. The only exceptions were things announced in the portion of chapter devoted to announcements, and information that was made public with the consent of the chapter.

Does anyone else have similar rules?
Alpha Sigma Phi has a similar rule. The internal business of the chapter is not privy to outsiders, and members are obligated to maintain silence regarding the transactions of the chapter (except for announcements or other information that is considered public information) when in the presence of non-members.
