Just a few tips for the ladies. I am tired of hearing DL Brothas being used as the main reason why AIDS is on the rise. Ladies, YOU, have to take responsibility for what goes on as far as your health is concerned.

Thats true, women do have to take responsibility for their sexual health, but so do the down low men. Assuming you believed you were in a COMMITTED, MONOGOMOUS/MARRIED relationship, may have even been previously tested, and felt "safe" about unprotected sex with your partner, a woman may elect to have unprotected sex with her man.

BUT when you find out later that your "comfort level" was based on a LIE due to the man's DENIAL OR CONCEALMENT of his bi-sexual/closeted gay lifestyle, then he also bears some of the responsibility for potentially infecting his woman.

You just can't look at it as saying that African American women are seeking a scapegoat for the rise in HIV/AIDS, when in fact, there are some instances where the women are lulled into a sense of false security by the OMISSIONS and RATIONALIZATIONS of the "DL" men.

Just for the sake of argument, if the man were upfront about his bi-sexual behavior, who is to say the woman would not elect to continue in the sexual relationship with him as long as the sex is protected.

Some brothers (and sisters) just need to be TRUTHFUL about their relationships.
