OK, time to VENT!!!!

I HATE DirecTV. The apartment complex that I moved into in August 2003 only offered DirecTV...so we HAD to do that. We thought it would be GREAT. Se we only signed a 6 month lease...so we told the DirecTV people we ONLY wanted 6months of service and they said ok at the time. Well first of all the WHOLE time we had it we never recieved a bill....not once. We had to call them everymoneth to have it turned back on and to tell them we STILL weren't getting a bill so we didn't even know how much we owed. I told them at least 4 times that I was not paying another bill untill I got an itemized statement. I think they were charging us for stuff we didn't order too. Anyhow when we went to get it cut off when we moved out they told me I signed a 1 year agreement. First of all...no one was even there when they brought the recievers and all so I DID NOT SIGN A DAMN THING! Anyhow they agreed to suspend my account until I got a place of my own and then I would have to live out the 6 remaining 6months or I would have to pay the cancellation fee. Well SUDDENLY I start getting a bill AT HOME. (BTW, they never sent a bill to me at home or school) AND I WASN'T EVEN GETTING ANY SERVICE!!!!!!!! So I call them and I am all fired up so they agree to make me only pay a small portion of the cancellation fee and be done with it. Last month I GOT A F*CKING BILL FROM THEM!! So I called them...and they had turned me in to a collection agency!!!! OMG I was sooo pissed, I said that I was going to write them a letter and ask them which actor was going to perform a dramatic monologue of my letter. SO I am still dealing with their dumbasses.

SO NEVER USE DIRECTV, they suck. I HATE THEM!
Sidenote and a little off topic.... I went through almost the SAME problem with AT&T for my cell phone. I shut it off 3 years ago and they are still trying to make me pay $400 because they recycled my number and were billing me instead of this girl who now had my phone. After a year of telling them that they shut my phone off 3 years ago, they are still harassing us and collections still bothers my mom.

Back to teh topic... we have Comcast and Dish Network. I like having both because we can switch to whatever. We use Dish Network mostly for movies, and whenever our cable goes out. Now as far as Internet, we have Comcast, and it goes out ALOT. Which royally sucks ass. And it's uber expensive.

Time Warner digital cable with an integrated digital video recorder. It has two tuners so I can record two shows while watching a third recorded show at the same time.

We have Comcast digital and high-speed internet. Yes, it's overpriced, but we wanted the cable modem. Actually, when we signed up, we got a wonderful deal where we only pay half the original price for an entire year! (And our internet is free until the end on 2004)!

I have a TiVO with my DirecTV at my apartment. Gave up Cox Cable many years ago because they always seemed to be going up in price. I LOVE my DirecTV, except when it rains and we lose a signal.

Same here. I don't regret leaving Comcast AT ALL. Heck, I had signal issues with them too!

Digital cable here. My tv is regular digital cable, but the "main" has high definition as well as a DVR (called PVRs by my cable company)
