1) I don't know if you've ever met Beth Saul or Ken Taylor, but if you have, I don't think you know them very well if you think they would disclose this kind of information. Violations of the rules like the ones alleged in the DT article would likely go to student conduct and unless a group is then kicked off campus, it is unlikely that members of the public would really find out exactly what their punishments were.
2) I don't know where you are getting your information but I am not aware of any sorority ever closing at USC due strictly to "Risk Management" issues. Granted, I've only been advising there for about 8 years, but my mother and my grandmother were both involved in greek life at USC prior to my involvement and neither of them recall anything along those lines either.
MrTrojanMan, I agree with others who have posted in this thread that you have to meet the men in the fraternities and make your own decisions. I have a lot of friends who joined various organizations at USC and all loved their experiences. Betarulz! provided you with a great way to sit down and put your thoughts together.
