I'd never heard of the "can't lead with spades rule" and "Nil" until I played on the net under excite.com. I really don't care for it either. I also like to throw in the hand if a player has no spades (especially if the player is me ). But, I prefer to use the 2 of diamonds and the 2 of spades as high spades.
