Fire safety is something we are all very aware of at OSU. The city's enforcement of fire codes has definitely increased since the fires in 2002-2003 (this one, one in a residential rental near campus, and one in a sorority house caused by a hair appliance).
I hope it won't take another tragedy like this one to increase fire safety and fire awareness in campus housing nationwide.
